Re: retro fit Laguna/RichAuto

That particular one was a 3x5. The 2x4 runs $7500.00 then add for a water cooled spindle instead of a air cooled router and at that price they have a hand held controller. The Legacy is a good looking machine with rotary access starting at $17000.00. Just a little high for my budget.

Re: retro fit Laguna/RichAuto

Yeah, to what you said. I would be looking at the 2x3 bed machine. I found a couple I like but then I am getting into that $20,000.00 machine. Hoping for a lower price.

Re: retro fit Laguna/RichAuto

Thought I would post this to close out the thread. I only got to try the acorn conversion a couple times and it was a great add to my cnc. There was a garage fire that was started form a cordless fillet knife that was charging in the garage. I found out afterwards there was a recall on this knife ...

Re: retro fit Laguna/RichAuto

Weather my terminology or my description is correct the 110 line voltage to the computer caused me as many problems as the ungrounded shielded wire. I have never had a computer respond like this, but all my other computers had batteries or some kind of UPS. Again this is just my opinion.
Yes this ...

Re: retro fit Laguna/RichAuto

I am quite sure the reason the line voltage affected the computer is the one supplied from centroid doesn't have a battery in it. A battery runs the computer while line voltage charges the battery so noise or changes in line voltage doesn't affect the computer performance. I will most likely install ...

Re: retro fit Laguna/RichAuto

Sorry I didn't explain that very well. The 220 is a 3 wire feed. The pc is 110 volts and not the same circuit as the 220. I changed the pc from a 110v circuit to a different 110v circuit in my garage.
I did use ferrule connectors on all my wires, I bought a kit with tool and wire ends. One of my ...

Re: retro fit Laguna/RichAuto

Success I think! I felt I had covered my bases following Shawn's experience and suggestions. So I tried to think out side the box (my cabinet being the box) After many years of being a job superintendent for commercial buildings I remembered we always had dedicated power supply for computers because ...

Re: retro fit Laguna/RichAuto

Thought I would share what is happening on this side of my adventure.
I started out changing wires in the cabinet for shielded wire. Then I found out the machine has shielded wire it just was not grounded which makes the shield not much good. So I started soldering ground wires on the original ...
