Re: CNC Reticle Vision, displays reticles on a USB camera image
Hi ShawnM,
I understand your concerns about the complexity and ease of maintenance of webcam-based systems. I too prefer simple solutions, but I found the laser method too imprecise and cumbersome for attaching and detaching touch probes. So, I decided to try this method. With low-cost touch ...

Re: CNC Reticle Vision, displays reticles on a USB camera image
Hi Spartan117,
Thank you for your suggestion! Cutting the marker with a tool and setting the offset between the spindle axis and the crosshair is indeed a very accurate method. What I’m referring to here is reticle placement. Whether using this USB camera method or the crosshair laser method, it’s ...

Re: CNC Reticle Vision, displays reticles on a USB camera image
Hi Gary,
You’re absolutely right about the challenges with focus height—this is definitely a hassle compared to using a laser. I also agree that dust and vibration can be problematic, but since I'm only developing the software, managing these issues will be up to the users' ingenuity.

Re: CNC Reticle Vision, displays reticles on a USB camera image
Hi ShawnM,
Thanks for the information! I'm aware of the built-in crosshair laser function, and it's definitely a great feature. However, I've found that for larger CNC routers, using a crosshair laser often requires leaning over the machine, which can be inconvenient. Additionally, the vertical ...

CNC Reticle Vision, displays reticles on a USB camera image
Hi everyone,
I also use Centroid Acorn with my CNC router and lathe, enjoying my daily woodworking projects. Recently, I developed an app called "CNC ReticleVision" that overlays a reticle on the video feed from a USB camera. I believe this can be used for precise zero-point setting in CNC ...

Re: PWM signal is not output from Acorn
I finally had time to repair it.
I successfully repaired it by replacing the Buffer IC (ACT125G).
The repair I did is described below, but anyone who imitates it does so at their own risk, don't blame Centroid or me. If you need repairs, use Centroid's repair service.
1.Remove the Beaglebone.

Re: PWM signal is not output from Acorn
Sorry for the late response. I tried to do it. But I couldn't detect the expected signal. It seems that my Acorn still has a broken part of the chip. At first I connected the laser engraver to a LT-80W-AA-PRO 24V, which I bought from Aliexpress, but I think this might have possibly over-currented it ...

Re: PWM signal is not output from Acorn
Thanks for the reply.
I am reading the signal on pin 14 directly with an oscilloscope probe.
I will try your method.
If this does not work and everything else is working fine, I am assuming that the logic IC called ACT125G, which is connected to the DB25 port, is broken for some reason, but what do ...

Re: PWM signal is not output from Acorn
The Acorn board's OUTPUT LED lights green when set to S1000, and a mixture of red and green when set to S500. I don't know if this is normal operation, but the PWM signal itself seems to be generated from the main board. However, pin 14 of the DB25 port does not seem to have a 5V output. I'm ...

Re: PWM signal is not output from Acorn
I have already cut the third wire that connects to relay 2.
