Re: For sale: Acorn controller and WMPG
Good then I don't have to worry about selling it "as is".

Re: For sale: Acorn controller and WMPG
The last time I used it was in October and it worked fine. I don't know whether the issue is software or hardware as the WMPG is able to move axes. I've had connection issues with this system in the past and frankly I'm sick of spending all my time troubleshooting it instead of using it. I'm selling...

For sale: Acorn controller and WMPG
I'm offering my Acorn-2488 controller and wireless MPG pendant for sale. I bought the Acorn new in February 2021. The WMPG was purchased new April 2023.
It has had light (hobby) use. My location is Windsor Ontario, but I can ship anywhere. $500 OBO.

Re: CNC12 stopped working
I "reverted" back to version 4.64 so presumably I should not need to re-enter any settings in the wizard. Upgrading the software was an attempt to fix the original problem which, if you read my initial post, the controller has simply stopped responding to commands from CNC12. I made a safe...

Re: CNC12 stopped working
Update: I tried to "revert" back to CNC12 version 4.6x (which I still had the installer file on my desktop), but when I installed 5.06 it updated the firmware on the controller and 4.6x throws an "unable to update firmware" error. I can understand it not being able to downgrade b...

CNC12 stopped working
Hello, I got a great Christmas present today! My CNC12 software/Acorn stopped working. I was running a vcarve operation (which also didn't complete properly. Z height incorrect, but that's another story) after running the job and seeing the tool running a couple mm above the workpiece, I attempted t...

servo/stepper mix?
Hello everyone, one of my coworkers is selling off some equipment for a CNC build he said he is never going to get to and is willing to let it go at a substantial loss. He has a 3KW liquid cooled spindle I'm interested in, and I think the swap from my 1.5KW spindle should be fairly straightforward.....

Re: Lost connection again
Well it's still a problem. Turned it on today and same thing. First thing I do every time is PING 10.168.41.2. I usually get replies with no packets lost.. most of the time... Today ping test good. Launched CNC12, no connection. Power-cycled everything. Ping good. Launched CNC12 connects but no axis...

Re: Lost connection again
Thanks, Marty. I always only had the drain grounded on one end of the wire. Otherwise you can create a ground loop. I just switched it from the Acorn side to the VFD side. I had it grounded to the back plate that all the electronics are mounted to, near the Acorn board. Now it is grounded on an actu...

Re: Lost connection again
OK I worked on this for the past couple days and I have not had a re-send error or lost control of an axis yet. To address Marty's notes and document the steps taken: I removed the jumpers from the DB25. The schematic I used to wire up the Yako drivers was S14976 as per Shawn M's suggestion from an ...
