Solved: Solved take 2: So I wanted to share my experience. I don't CNC very often because of time contraints.
The final issue was: ....I did not have resistors on each signal feeding the drives as shown in the installation software. Thus, my drives would error and stop while Acorn continued to ...

Re: jogging and MDI :Solved
Before I start:
I did do a bench test before hooking motors up to my mill. When I jogged in xyz they all worked. I never had issues until I was using MDI to jog into place for initial Gcode test. This is when an axis would fail to move in one direction and the DRO would continue to the desired ...

Re: jogging and MDI
So, I want to use the same switches for homing and limits. Something I've always done.
Acorn does not seem to allow for this in configuration. If you hit a switch that's being used for both while homing it errors out because it sees that a limit has been hit.
All Im doing is is using a another ...

Re: jogging and MDI
The table starts on switch 3. Switch 1 and 2 function are stated below the table.
I think it's correct to 1600.
Although, I am thinking the direction axis and edge setting could be an issue?
So, If I make two axis moves via MDI the problem goes away. X 1 enter, y1 enter, y.5 enter, z-1 enter ...

Re: jogging and MDI
24-80 volts. The idea was that I had the amperage to to drive all three of my nema 34's.
This is a 800w, 35volt, 22amp Toroidal. Electronics are not my overall strength.
What would have been a better option and why?
I am just getting this thing up and running for the first time.

Re: jogging and MDI
disabled limit switch input. Same issue. z was the third axis attempting to move with mdi move of z-1.
then after the DRO moves without the motor to -1, Then jogging in x+ and y+ is disabled. Keep jogging around the finally it comes back online for -x, -y and z-. This seems like a parser error to ...

Re: jogging and MDI
lol, ...my drives are AC or DC. I hope you have some fun at my expense. I do appreciate the help.
I am using the Toroidal to power drives. All limit/home switches are connected in series. They were just installed and I'm getting everything up and running. Plus I have an overide on the limits to put ...

Re: jogging and MDI
So jogging in all directions works fine.
It's once I use MDI to go to a specific x,y,z point after homing that I lose axis drive. The DRO shows movement without motors working.
Usually on third axis move in any order. However, today it happened on second move on different axis.

jogging and MDI
New to Centroid, not new to CNC.
Problem:
using MDI: x1 (moves good), then y1 (moves good), z-1 (dro readout moves, motors do not move in some directions, ex. x axis may still jog in + only)
Always after 3rd MDI input.
Jog will no longer work in negative position on any axis until reset.
error ...
