Re: Wizard turns/deg limited to 7 characters?
I have 90:1 on my mill with 4000 Steps, works very well. You can fit a harmonic drive on the stepper for high reduction without backlash. Thanks Uwe, I have been looking for something with 45:1 or 90:1 and I cant find much. Are you using a planetary gearbox? Do you have a link? How much backlash an...

Re: Tool touch off and probe help needed
Your axis configuration looks wrong. It looks like you are using the PM ballscrew kit. Are you are using the PM ballscrews? Mine have a 5mm pitch. 1in=24.5mm÷5=5.08 your turns per inch should be around 5.08 not 8 or 12.7

Re: Wizard turns/deg limited to 7 characters?
Do not use Odd Numbers as a result for reduction rates, this will end up in rounding errors. Rotary Axes are working in degrees, so take care that the step resolution can drive to 0.01 or 0.001 degree whatever precision you want to achieve. Uwe Makes sense, Thanks. Looks like I have some work to do.

Re: Wizard turns/deg limited to 7 characters?
Gary Its belted with a 62/20 gears for 3.1 with 4000 steps per rev microstepping. I built it out of a lathe headstock a few years ago and have been running small parts successfully but recently have had some larger parts with with tighter tolerances and the error was glaringly obvious. I might have ...

Wizard turns/deg limited to 7 characters?
I have a rotary indexer with a 3.1 ratio, 3.1/360= 0.0086111111 . The wizard is limited to 0.008611 turns/deg. 0.0000001111 does not sound like much :roll: but a movement of 0.008611 turns on the rotary indexer corresponds to an angle of approximately 0.0266 degrees or 0.008762 inches on a control s...

Re: New setup help!
Looks like these drives accept 5v or 24v logic via a switch. if it was me I would skip the DB25 and run them right off the acorn 24v outputs

Re: CNC12 v5.07 rev14 now available for download.
Just tried the beta due to the InitialStage SV_ATC_CAROUSEL_POSITION bug in my recent thread. I was using G30 for a atc and (P3) for tool setter. As someone else reported the G30 Z for ATC gets reset, creating a crash or tool drop situation for atc's. Back to running 5.04 and everything runs smoothly.

Re: Atc spins endlessly after reboot.
That was the problem :D First I did a fresh install of v5.07 rev15 beta and that did not fix the problem. I just made a simple change to IF 1==1 THEN CurrentCarouselPosition_W = SV_ATC_CAROUSEL_POSITION, RequestedCarouselPosition_W = CurrentCarouselPosition_W, PutBackPosition_W = SV_ATC_TOOL_IN_SPIN...

Re: Atc spins endlessly after reboot.
No issues with the inputs or outputs as far as I can tell. I noticed a possible issue or symptom the bin number switches after acorn reboot. CNC12 manual page 352 says: "The current ATC carousel position is constantly monitored. When there is a change, the ATC bin field in the cncm.job file is ...

Re: Atc spins endlessly after reboot.
Thanks Gary, I have a 4th axis so thats why I am using the g216 driver its a "indexing stepper driver" controlled by a couple relays. Keith has recommended it a couple times in the facebook group and Marty did a video on it, thats why I designed around this driver. I failed to mention the ...
