Re: Denford Triac Carousel ATC

Yes I redact that statement. A report would be helpful. I am no expert so I like to keep things simple. I still think a slightly modified macro should control this ATC easily.

Re: Denford Triac Carousel ATC

I use only the outputs from my 1616 and none off the acorn. Here is my mfunc6 and wizard list. Example M94 /62 turns on output2 (not to be confused with OUT2)

Re: Denford Triac Carousel ATC

you will need to compile it correctly and yes that is the right plc file. You are also correct about the ToolTurret being for a lathe style atc. Learning custom PLC can be a big time suck but understanding it will save a lot of frustration. Centroid is easy to use but getting my atc working ...

Re: Denford Triac Carousel ATC

Re: Denford Triac Carousel ATC

I had to modify my plc.src to achive that. Please be careful if you decide to mess with the plc or wait until someone smarter comes along to help like cncnw :D also If you define a custom output like me, the wizard will remove it if you make any future changes to inputs/outputs. This is what I did ...

Re: Denford Triac Carousel ATC

You can press alt-i to look at and toggle all your outputs for testing, no need for mdi commands.

Re: Denford Triac Carousel ATC

While memory bits are the preferred way to do things I also used simple input/output commands to the pre-configured file and it works perfectly fine too. Here is my frankenstein mfunc6, it has performed thousands of tool changes without a problem ...

Re: Wizard turns/deg limited to 7 characters?

I have 90:1 on my mill with 4000 Steps, works very well.

You can fit a harmonic drive on the stepper for high reduction without backlash.

Thanks Uwe, I have been looking for something with 45:1 or 90:1 and I cant find much. Are you using a planetary gearbox? Do you have a link? How much ...

Re: Tool touch off and probe help needed

Your axis configuration looks wrong. It looks like you are using the PM ballscrew kit. Are you are using the PM ballscrews? Mine have a 5mm pitch. 1in=24.5mm÷5=5.08 your turns per inch should be around 5.08 not 8 or 12.7
