Re: CNC 10 lathe, slowing down the rapids.

Changing those settings did help, it still seems jerky, but it is nowhere near as bad, I did change the lead in settings in hsm and it solved the gouging issue I mentioned. Thank you again for all the help!

Re: Advice on converting a Sharp engine lathe to CNC (Resolved)

Yea, The used market seems to be pretty sparse right now. I'd love to find another lathe that is a bit larger than the one I have, unfortunately, it seems like the more I am able to do, the more I want to be able to do. I have a tendency to plan for a year or so before I do anything, Maybe in that t...

Re: Advice on converting a Sharp engine lathe to CNC (Resolved)

So I looked at the Haas lathe again today. It weighs 15k and takes a 60 amp 3 phase service. It is well worth the money, but it is something I cannot power or move easily without rigging it into the shop. I think I may take another look at the Sharp. I could take my time with it and do the conversio...

CNC 10 lathe, slowing down the rapids.

So I finally Got my Mori SL1 up and going , made several parts to test everything and it is doing great. The one last thing I would like to fix is when it rapids to position, It jerks the machine around pretty wildly. I can turn the feed override knob down to about 50% and it is much more manageable...

Re: Spindle will not respond to an M3 command

Teco Fluxmaster 100. I got the spindle working, You pointed me in the right direction. Apparently, the VFD had been replaced and someone halfway installed the one that is in it and never really got it working right. Now, when I issue M3 or M4 it works as it should. so I tried running a program and i...

Re: Spindle will not respond to an M3 command

So I jumped back on this when I got home and found the VFD that runs the spindle is setup incorrectly I think, still trying to wrap my head around the way this thing works. They also jumpered "34 out to 15 com" and "34 com to 14 com" Any Idea why they would have done that? I thou...
