Re: Better Axis Pairing Method for Routers - Mimimizing Machine Damage

There is a fair amount of twisting with the default program.
It would be nice if they were consistent.
Also would be cool if I could have encoders to ensure both sides move in sync--it'd be horrible if one of the Y steppers died, and the other tried to keep going!!!

L510-203-H1-U

Single phase 3 HP unit.
Everything works fine--I've got probably 30 hours on it thus far and was rather careful to get all the settings correct.
I've only touched 3 VFDs and a single Acorn board in my life--so I'm no expert!

Re: Contactor Recommendations

I like to use contactors with a 24VDC coil. I wire the coil through one of the Acorn relays, then assign "DriveOK" to that relay. The Acorn powers up and once it clears boot up, the relay closes, that in turn closes the contactor, and my drives get power. Thanks to Gary Campbell for that ...

Re: Centroid Acorn 0-10V Analog Control Help (Resolved)

Final update and recap. When the shield for the 0-10V signal cable is grounded to VFD side there's noise totally drowning the signal. However, when the shield is grounded to the control cabinet ground which uses a different circuit but the same garage power panel--the noise is reduced but still exis...

Re: Centroid Acorn 0-10V Analog Control Help

Marty, Thank you for the response. I understand the aim of providing such ample information, however, I think I will remove the Acorn from the cabinet, and have it on a test bench attached to the VFD--so that if there's still an issue that there's significantly less variables to address. Centroid Acorn 0-10V Analog Control Help (Resolved)

I apologize for bother everyone here but had an issue and cannot find a solution. I've finally gotten around to setting up my VFD so that it accepts 0-10V analog signal for frequency control. Re: Will this VFD and Electric Motor Work With ACORN (and each other)

I've had the pleasure and stress of setting up a few VFDs before on other controllers. Firstly you must read the manual (to grasp how easy or difficult this is) and watch a few Youtube videos--there will be people who've done what you're wishing to accomplish. (This guy might have some basic ideas a...

Re: Can I see which smoothing profile is active?

If, for example, your "1/8 Fine Finish" smoothing settings are in Preset #5, then you can activate them with: G64 ON P5 Like RogDC mentioned, it is a good practice to deactivate smoothing, when you are done with it (ex. at the end of the program). To do this, use: G64 OFF P0 You might fin...

Re: Can I see which smoothing profile is active?

If this is your PP,Try removing the quotes from the name and place 'ON' between G64 & your Smoothing Setup Name. If this is g-code, place an 'ON' between the G64 command and "smoothing setup name" and see if that works From my Vectric V-Carve Pro PP to set smoothing on : G64 ON [34]3D...

Can I see which smoothing profile is active?

(I could very well be wrong here--but I am asking as perhaps I am missing something here because I am new to CNC12) I've been working with a few smoothing profiles by manually clicking on them. But today I wrote them into each program and it seems the first call for "Contouring Router" wor...
