Homing to hard stop with Delta B3A drives
Is it possible to initiate the various homing procedures in the delta B3A drives? Specifically, is it possible to home to the physical hard stop?

Re: Possible to change soft limits via macro?
Looking at the macro programming manual, it looks like there are read/write capable parameters that set axis travel limits (23501-23508 travel minus for axes 1-8 and 23601-23608 travel plus for axes 1-8). Based upon this, it seems like I could do this via macro. In my particular case, the spindle on...

Possible to change soft limits via macro?
I'm planning a machine that has a geometry where if the Z axis is in a certain position it could cause a collision. I can take some steps to make any collision "graceful", where it doesn't do permanent damage. In CAM, I can set up the machine to avoid collision, and I can also use the work...

Re: AcornSix - Zri Homing with linear scales
I guess I should have clarified a little better. I’m not using linear scales, I’m trying to use the index pulse from the motor encoder. Which like I said works great on my lathe but the mill seems to have a problem with. I am actually hoping to do something similar on a new machine that is still in...

Re: Recommended Vfd and motor
Can you share the nameplate of the motor? If it has an existing 3 phase motor, you can control it without changing the motor. I have used Automation Direct GS drives for years and had good success. They also have good documentation and phone support if you need it. Check out the GS10 or GS20 series ...

Z Pulse/Index Pulse homing guidance
I'm currently designing a control panel and am hoping to use the Z pulse of an encoder to increase the accuracy of homing. I am using delta ASDA-B3A Ethercat drives, but with an acorn 6 using Step/Direction signals. The drive has an line driver encoder output for Z (as I understand this is considere...

How does acceleration work in the centroid control system?
I recently saw a post referencing acceleration and am a bit confused about how centroid handles acceleration and how setting acceleration time actually works. The setup manual states that the acceleration time sets the time to achieve maximum velocity. Let’s say I have a machine that can go up to 10...

Re: CNC12 and RS-485...
I don’t believe RS-485 is available on centroid products. I think almost all VFDs have an option to take a 0-10v input, probably 10 minutes of wiring (0-10 v and probably a spindle enable output via relay) and changing a few parameters on the drive would get you running. You may be able to get some ...

Re: AC Servo suggestions?
Thanks for the info, I’ll probably order a 1kw JMC setup for testing at some point, it will good to have a cheap option available. As an FYI for others interested, I picked up my ASDA-B3A ethercat drives (which can do both ethercat and step/dir) from FastToBuy. Great customer service and responsiven...
