Re: How to show button using if-then condition

I am currently on 4.6.4. and my system works perfectly. I was somewhat reluctant to update but sounds like that is necessary. Will try to do it over the weekend. I very much appreciate the replies; while programming the PLC seems way out of my skill set will look up the manual and decide if I want t...

Re: How to show button using if-then condition

Thank you for the reply. Any thoughts on how one could do it through the PLC?

How to show button using if-then condition

Hello, I have begun customizing my Acorn VCP. I have a KP-3 touch probe and probe detect is on Input 6 of Acorn, whereas probe tripped is on Input 7. I would like to add a probe display (not press button) with conditional appearance combining inputs 6 and 7. For example, if Input 6 is OFF, there wou...

Re: Acorn does not recognize motor after auto-tuning <clearpath software setup>

Let's review the procedure to run a SDSK ClearPath from an Acorn. [...] You have a Green LED, so you know that the Enable signal is working and that the motor has power. Even with a broken USB connector you can take the next logical step. Power off the Acorn and switch the Z-axis motor with a motor...

Re: Acorn does not recognize motor after auto-tuning <clearpath software setup>

In the ClearPath-MSP program, have you verified that the input format is Step+Direction and not Quadrature? When running from the Acorn, Is the ClearPath motor LED Green or Amber? Green is required. The light is green. IMG_1227.jpg I did not change anything in the MCp software I am pretty sure it i...

Re: Acorn does not recognize motor after auto-tuning

Any chance your unworking profile is not set to step and direction? There is something amiss with your motor profile. If you wish them to be compared and diagnosed you should send them to Teknic support. FYI, Acorn has no means to "recognize" a motor. It is an open loop system which can o...

Re: Acorn does not recognize motor after auto-tuning

@teknic_servo any suggestions, please? I suspect there is an easy fix for this from someone who knows these motors well. Thank you.

Re: Acorn does not recognize motor after auto-tuning

Here are the configuration files side by side, with the GOOD one on the right and the BAD one on the left. There is a faint blue highlight of the few differences, hopefully visible -- click on the photo for an enlarged version. Thank you all for any help. Acorn Teknic 1.png Acorn Teknic 2.png Acorn ...

Acorn does not recognize motor after auto-tuning <clearpath software setup>

I have a PM 728-VT with the PM CNC Conversion kit, and Teknic Clearpath motors. The system worked well. I made some mechanical changes to the x axis and auto-tuned the motor. Afterwards, Acorn no longer recognizes the motor. So after turning it on, and homing it, it homes the z and y axes, and then ...

Re: Newbie converting a PM-728VT

As I mentioned, by design, the control will not turn on the output until that axis is commanded to move. Jogging, homing (my guess is you pressed cycle start to home the machine?) MDI Fault, VCP Reset or Estop will turn off the output and it will not turn back on until CNC12 is in the ready state a...
