Re: Custom Centroid APi CNC12 screen set by Adam for a custom CNC machine

Hi Keith !

How does one get into the api game ? I have a project concerning a press brake that I would like to do a custom input hmi for. All the best !

Re: Analog Out weirdness, please help <DYN4 as spindle motor>

https://centroidcncforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=42002#p42002 Here is the thread on it. Cncnsw and Keith were instrumental in solving it. The short version is the dyn4 drive is rather robust when dealing with backfeed from the motor as long as the drive is enabled. The issue is in the plc disables the d...

Re: Analog Out weirdness, please help

Glad to hear that the stop fault is not an issue. Are your speeds repeatable ? They seem to be. But there is some weirdness with the encoder now, it jumps from + to - without me changing anything. Forgive me if you have answered this already does your servo power supply have a shared ground with th...

Re: Analog Out weirdness, please help

Yes, i am unable to hit the proper RPM, 10-20% off. I have never had any overvoltage alarms, going from full speed to slow many times during testing, never an issue.

Glad to hear that the stop fault is not an issue. Are your speeds repeatable ?

Re: Analog Out weirdness, please help

Ok...so what are the practical effects ? Are you attempting to hit a specific RPM and are unable to do so ? Have you solved the overvoltage alarm when coasting down from above 3000 rpm while using the acorn ?

Re: Analog Out weirdness, please help

I ended up redesigning my mill to eliminate the dmm as a spindle drive. I had issues with it faulting out after a stop command and creep after a stop command. Both were solved through plc programming changes...however I found my particular choice if servo and drive to be weak in torque and not suffi...

Re: Hickory revision ?

Hi Keith, The RMA is 36786. We are not exactly sure what has happened. I was told that a breakdown of the techs findings would be included when the board was shipped back to us. So as it currently stands The original board is not repairable. We purchased a new board. The process has taken quite a wh...
