Thanks to all of you for your responses. I didn't think it mattered to set before or after the program was loaded, but needed some confirmation.

I mis-understood the install instructions. After loading the license it then tells you to download the new version, but doesn't state to close CNC12. Thanks for your help. I'm up and running.
