Lathe Sauter Turret ATC needs more I/O for control

<t>My 18" Chevallier is making parts under Acorn control now.<br/> However, I am changing the turret position manually.<br/> The Turret software that is built into the CNC12 appears to lack two control features I need.<br/> My turret has a solenoid that drives a locking pin into the rotating part to...

Re: NoFaultOut

THANKS! The forced outputs were the problem. Things are working now.

Re: NoFaultOut

Re: The addition of the SureServo2 drives to the Wizard. It dawned on me that those definitions live in CNC12 not on the Acorn.... Sorry.

NoFaultOut

I am having a spot of trouble getting my Nofaultout output to turn on. The Drive 1&2 OK inputs are green as is the VFD "ready" input. Input 8 is monitoring the EStop switch and that is green as well. There is no fault displayed on the Centroid control panel and it resets successfully. ...

Re: Reset for VFD and Servos

The reason is that I was just trying to avoid having to add the expansion hardware. It tempts me to migrate to the Acorn Six.

Reset for VFD and Servos

I am thinking to forgo using the Acorn to drive the resets on the VFD and Servos and just use pushbuttons. Is there a reason that this is a bad idea? I have only the 8 channels of output from relay board with the Acorn. I want to control the Sauter turret on my lathe and I believe I will need 6 outp...

What Determines Encoder Signal Voltage?

I have a new AllinOne board in my Atrump E216. We put a new HuiJing spindle encoder in it. (The old one was acting the same) The power supply is right at 5.0V All the signals are at 0.5V (low) 2.84V (high). Measured to DC Com. It works intermittantly, but throws quadrature errors. There is some nois...

Re: VFD Safety

The Stepperonline VFD seems to be an incredible deal. I bought the H100, but the STO feature requires an upgraded controller board. I have not figured out how to order that yet. I don't want to kill the input power due to the boot up time. My implementations with other machines using motors in the 1...

VFD Safety

In my Chevalier 1840 lathe retrofit, I have the Acorn controlling the Sureservo2 motors and now I am connecting the STEPPERONLINE 7.5KW 10HP 31A 220V VFD. Probably made in the same factory as the DuraPulse. In other machines I build (non CNC) if my VFD does not have a Safe Torque Off (STO) input, th...

Re: New! Automation Direct SureServo2 and Oak Compatibility

I have purchsed Sureservo2 1kW drives and motors to use with my Acorn on a Chevalier 1840 lathe retrofit. In looking at the servo drive parameters you established for the Oak, it appears it is using pulse and direction commands to the servo drive (P1.000). If that is correct, I should be able to use...
