Re: Speed Reduction Angle Head
Thanks CNCSNW, I tried a couple of things this morning before I got stuck into my work for the day, and you're certainly correct, tapping cycles (G84, G74) do not work in the G19 plane. It appears to automatically use the Z value as the hole depth regardless of the plane. This is good to know at lea...

Re: Speed Reduction Angle Head
Thanks CNCSNW, I knew you would know the answer for sure. Before I get into the bones of it, I currently send some stuff out to a guy in town who has a gantry mill converted over to a GSK controller. I know he just uses G19 in his canned cycle to do his drilling and tapping, for example: G19 G81 Y12...

Speed Reduction Angle Head
HI Everyone, I'm building a Right Angle head for my mill to, basically, use it as a horizontal borer. However, due to my mill being 1:1 (motor:spindle) and I often do larger bores, I'm gearing down the angle head 2:1 as I'm usually boring at 60-150 RPM. My Main question is, and I know there's a coup...

Re: Autodesk Fusion 360 Posts - 4th axis works, moving on to 5th axis
if I program it to move from X0.0 Y0.0 A29.8 to X-140 Y0.0 A-29.8 F350 then the A rotates a lost faster than the x moves. or appears to. That move should make X move -140mm, and A move -59.6 degrees. It should be done in linear interpolation: X and A movement in constant proportion to each other. T...

Re: Autodesk Fusion 360 Posts - 4th axis works, moving on to 5th axis
HI Marc, I'll check, I've just got some jobs on at the moment, once they're done I'll get back onto this. I did try inverse time this morning, and it's still exactly the same. I notice that the slot comes out nearly 5mm wider than it's supposed to be. I'd really love to get this sorted, because If I...

Re: Autodesk Fusion 360 Posts - 4th axis works, moving on to 5th axis
Hi John, Yes, I did Air moves above the parts before cutting the part and it looked OK to the naked eye, it wasn't until I lowered the Z and let her rip that I saw the problem, then I thought I fixed it, did some more air cuts on the other side, looked better, lowered the Z, same thing. I'm going to...

Re: Autodesk Fusion 360 Posts - 4th axis works, moving on to 5th axis
Hey did you end up getting this to work? I'm having a lot of trouble with simultaneous 4th axis. I've been using my forth axis for positioning for a while, no problems, but in simultaneous mode it over feeds the A Axis. If I command the A axis to rotate, say, 29.8 degrees, it does it perfectly, but ...

Quantum 2000 Upgrade
Hi everyone, It's been the better part of a year since I carried out a Centroid oak conversion to my Quantum 2000 Bedmill, and I have been trying to make a success story video for months but I just can't get it finished and I thought I'd take a few minutes today to put up a bit of a success story he...

Re: Tool Length offsets and Part offsets
Thanks Marc, I've never had to do that before, I guess normally you call a tool and it has a default offset, and then if you want a different offset for that tool you call it, like if you're doing progressive gun drilling, you use the same tool just call different offsets every time you change your ...

Re: Tool Length offsets and Part offsets
Hi Everyone reading this, I may have solved my own problem, but I'll pass it on to anyone else having the same or similar issues. when doing a manual tool change (using the ATC button, or using the MDI console) the tool changes but the offset doesn't, for example: If I have tool #10 in the spindle a...
