Re: KP-3 Probe Woes

I Have a KP-3 that also sticks. I noticed the collar on the front was loose the first time so I gently tightened it up by had but it still sticks now and again. I'm in Australia so sending it back is a bit of an issue.

Tool offset changed when setting z

I had a strange thing happen today. I was resetting my z zero with tool 4 and when I pressed the accept the tool number would stay the same but the length offset would change to 1 giving me an incorrect z zero. I tried several other tool numbers and they worked as they should. I tried shutting down ...

Re: Spindle VFD compatibility

For better or worse it’s on its way. I only have a 7.6kw induction motor at the moment. So I will see how it compares. I would be interested if someone else has used a similar motor.

Spindle VFD compatibility

Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my spindle motor to an 11kw AC servo. I've attached the controller that comes with the motor. Just wondering if this will be compatible with the Allin1DC and if the encoder can be used for rigid tapping, or do I need to stick with the external one I've fitted. It will be b...

Re: inconsistant positioning

Happy with it so far.

I sorted my problem today.

The ram was loose and was moving while doing side cuts along X.
I sacked the guy that didn't tighten it. HAY THAT'S ME.

Thank's everyone for all your help and ideas.

I've learnt more about this machine and Centroid.

Re: inconsistant positioning

I've never really been able to find out much about this machine. It has about 850mm travel in X 450mm in Y and 155 in Z. The spindle is powered by a 1440rpm 10hp induction motor with a 1:1 belt drive. I have max speed set to 3000rpm. To date I've been very impressed with the rigidity of the machine ...

Re: inconsistant positioning

When I first got the Mill it had a fagor control and y would not move and then would move like it was trying to catch up. I wasn't watching the load on that cut but in the past I've run 5mm depth of cut with a 63mm face mill with 75% engagement and rarely high feed. The 10hp spindle was more the pro...

Re: inconsistant positioning

The first pocket is the 8 o'clock the second is the 10 o'clock Y is to bottom of pic. If you zoom in you can see the shallow cut I did first on all the pockets except the first one which is right. The one that has the deeper cut is when it came to do the finish cut and the end mill pulled out of the...
