Re: Increase M Comp Table Size (X-Axis)

Deleting those files and then restarting CNC12 worked flawlessly for both X & Z-Axis. Thanks guys!

Thanks Marty for the acronym clarification.

Re: Increase M Comp Table Size (X-Axis)

Thanks tblough. I didn't see a file called IIRC but one that shows up when I first click on the M Comp tab. The program said "Warning: file cnc-z.tab Travel limit settings do not match the number of entries." I opened up that file and the one for the X-Axis, editing them accordingly, saved...

Re: Increase M Comp Table Size (X-Axis)

Any word on what I need to do to increase the table size for the X-Axis from -8 to -12.5? The X-Axis soft limit is set to -12.5 in the Wizard and the Z-Axis soft limit is set to -15.5. And now both M Comp tables don't go up to the soft limits on each axis (the Z-Axis table stops at -15.0). There's g...

Re: Best Way to Increase Hole Size

Ok, I will try the more simpler method. I was thinking the turning cycle was just for making the outside diameters smaller. Thanks so much for your input!

Re: Best Way to Increase Hole Size

Sorry bout that. I'm using a lathe, depth of 1.4800", some 4340 steel with total diameter 5.4850".

Best Way to Increase Hole Size

Newbie here. I'm trying to increase an internal hole from 1" to 3.625" and was under the assumption a boring operation would take care of this. However, it does not seem prudent to use a boring command since I noticed it only takes one pass per command and it would take over 65 passes/comm...

Re: Increase M Comp Table Size (X-Axis)

The M comp table for the x-axis only goes up to 8.000 and I need it go all the way to 12.5000 in order to compensate for the entire length of travel of that ball screw. The M comp table is making the calibration worse once I plug in the actual distances traveled on the x-axis. I'm getting fairly acc...

Increase M Comp Table Size (X-Axis)

I'm trying to plug in numbers for my x-axis in the M-comp table and notice it only goes up to 8 while my travel (actual not radius) is 12.5". I would like to get the full range of my x-axis leadscrew and thus increase this table size to 12.5. I have my soft limit for x-axis set to -12.5" i...

Re: Lathe knurling procedure with Acorn

Thanks for the very detailed explanation and example. I followed most of it except for the part where you said to adjust the tool wear in addition to the decreaseing the diameter by .015". Can you explain the logic behind changing the tool wear and not just decreasing the diameter in the progra...

Re: Lathe knurling procedure with Acorn

The one that came with my quick change post is similar to one in this picture. knurling tool.JPG I will switch it out for a cutter type if it's better for CNC'ing. Gotcha, so we just program the diameter .02 smaller than what it is currently (or whatever is the recommended knurling depth) for a spec...
