Re: Move to different hardware

Thanks Keith, perhaps I created it for some reason, or made a copy from somewhere else as a backup. Anyway, I'll look at its contents and if they're irrelevant, I'll delete the c:\cncfiles copy.

Re: Move to different hardware

So that only leaves c:\cncfiles. Is this intended as a storage folder for Gcode programs that you have created with intercon?

Re: Move to different hardware

Oh, sorry Keith, I have the following folders c:\cncfiles and c:\icn_lath. I wasn't sure how they fitted in, or if they are redundant. I copied them accross to be on the safe side, but I'd prefer to remove them, if they're not needed.

Re: Move to different hardware

All good now, the settings for the Acorn transferred over once I copied the CNCT folder over to the NUC. I also transferred the cncfiles and icn_lath folders as well. Do you know what these folders are for / from?

Re: Move to different hardware

Yes, I have multi-homed the Ethernet adapter to a local address as well as the one on the 10 class c sub net that the Acorn needs. That part all works thanks Tom.

Re: Move to different hardware

Thanks Tom,
I didn't even consider that option, since i thought the system registry would be populated with lots of software specific entries.
I'll do it this morning and let you know how it goes.

Move to different hardware

Hi everyone, I've decided to move my lathe version of Acorn to a different PC. Is there anything I need to do? :) I currently have Acorn installed on an IBM Thinkcentre, after reading the recommendations here, I'd like to switch to an iNTEL NUC. I have a NUC7i5BNK to use. Windows 11 is installed on ...

Re: Strange lathe issue - only when boring

Exactly what I was thinking CNCSW, the Z position remains correct for the tool (now tool 8) but the X position appears to have moved out by approx +15mm. It is still v early in the morning here, but when I finish my breakfast, I will go out to the lathe and replicate the issue, to get a clear answer...

Re: Strange lathe issue - only when boring

No, I didn't use tool 1 again that session, only tool 11. In the end, I created a new tool (Tool 8) which had exactly the same offsets etc as tool 11. Then I did a test bore with tool 8, measured the hole diameter, set the x diameter and proceeded to bore the job successfully. I'm still unsure wheth...
