Are there any problems running Acorn using Windows 11 IOT.
I'm thinking about replacing my CNC control PC and had some advice to use the IOT version of Windows that does not have a lot of unnecessary software build in.

Re: Ground connection to common
Thanks, will do that on my machine and do it for the Plasma machine.

Re: Ground connection to common
Question:
Building a Plasma CNC machine:
Two power supplies are used for the Plasma system, one for the Acorn board and THC RX and a separate +24VC for the Plasma THC TX board.
Should the common on each power supply be connected to chassis at each power supply?

Re: C1 on main acorn board burned right off the board
Product in video (link repeated below) is one of a set of 7 embroidery tools that I make.
I also make many types of Lacemaker's tools as well.
All can be seen on my web site: http://richardpikul.com/
I don't really have a use at present for the rev 4 relay board at this time, will keep it in mind ...

Re: C1 on main acorn board burned right off the board
Did not want to claim successful operation too early, so ran the CNC machine for a couple of days of production first.
All works, just like it did before the Acorn board failed (probably my fault...).
Some photos of my CNC machine and a video showing what was being made yesterday are available here ...

Re: C1 on main acorn board burned right off the board
I was not sent the relay board/ribbon cable with the replacement board. At this time I do not have a use for it.
Found the original Centroid note re using separate +5VDC and +24VDC power supplies. It states: "Acorn PCBs revision 171025 and older may fail to start properly if external voltage is ...

Re: C1 on main acorn board burned right off the board
+5VDC is connected to the following drive connections: +Pul, +Dir and encoder feedback connector VCC (pin 4). Not using enable.
On the Acorn original version I have been using, RL1 closes if E stop is released.
Had a good look at the drive manuals from Leadshine and Aut. Tech.:
Am I correct in ...

Re: C1 on main acorn board burned right off the board
+5VDC is power only to the KL-8082H drive encoder circuitry.
On the Acorn Rev. 2 board (my original), if +5VDC is connected to the drive encoder circuitry before Acorn is 'ready', this somehow prevents the drive from operating.
Existing +5VDC connection:
+5VDC from power supply wired to connector H7 ...

Re: C1 on main acorn board burned right off the board
History:
Feb. 2018 connected Acorn board, found that it would not control drives.
With Marty's garage help, discovered that +5VDC to drives cannot be turned on until Acorn is powered up

Re: C1 on main acorn board burned right off the board
O.K. - I'm ashamed of myself. . . Spent years designing power supplies and power supply systems, I made a novice mistake.
I daisy chained the chassis grounds of the +24V and +5V power supplies and connected the chassis ground from the Acorn board to the +24V chassis ground (see photo 1). I'm blaming ...
