Re: C1 on main acorn board burned right off the board
The burned component is not C1 as assumed. 'C1' is what can be seen initially. Cleaned off the 'soot' from the PCB and find that the component reference is "FB5". Removed the 24V power connector and find that iso C1, I exposed "CHASSIS". C1 is actually located next to TP2 (test p...

C1 on main acorn board burned right off the board <running now>
Capacitor C1 burned off the main acorn board. Only the stubs of the leads remain. BBG heartbeat o.k. when powered by mini USB. No heartbeat when mounted on main board. Need to know what the repair solution needs to be. This is powering a production CNC lathe - short downtime is critical. 20220130_11...

Re: CNC wood lathe
Changed to 1600 steps per rev. - jogging and max rate needed changing as well.
Motors do run smoother - Thanks for the advise!

CNC wood lathe
Build update for my CNC wood lathe Thanks again to martyscncgarage for solving problems with the initial breadboarding operation. Schematics, report, settings screen captures and photo attached. Note that on the schematic I have used RL1 to delay +5VDC. This is necessary as the Acorn board requires ...

Re: Acorn / Leadshine "9031 DRIVE FAULT"
Just wondering, since flipping the step and direction switches in Wizard advanced axis helped to make my problem go away,
would flipping the enable switches do the same for the enable input?

Re: Acorn / Leadshine "9031 DRIVE FAULT"
Just to clarify - most of the work done to solve this problem was accomplished by: martyscncgarage Don't like to take credit for work done by someone else... Steps taken for my 3 axis hybrid servo motor bench test: I am using CNC12 Lathe software, so references reflect this choice. Steps do not incl...

Re: Acorn / Leadshine "9031 DRIVE FAULT"
You can probably see me, all the way from AZ, grinning from ear to ear! Jog worked perfectly, so I took a small leap and ran my test program - also worked perfectly! Re: Acorn / Leadshine "9031 DRIVE FAULT"
I did previously do the connections as you instructed and results as follows: Motor + encoder (alarm & enable not connected) with only 72V motor power connected, Acorn not connected - motors holding o.k. Added +5.0VDC (corrected from +5.6VDC) to encoder and step/dir - motors, then powering up +7...
