Re: Teknic SDSK HLFB brake control issue

Let's verify that the brake is ON (locked) when no power is applied to the brake and that it is OFF (unlocked) when 24VDC is applied to the brake. If that is the case, then the brake should stop the Z-axis from moving when the Acorn is turned OFF. If the Z-axis still slips, then check the weight ...

Re: Teknic SDSK HLFB brake control issue

Hi Arthur,
I had a similar issue with my z-axis sliding down after powering down. The original motors were stepper motors and never had a problem with the z-
axis moving after powering everything down. If you watch Marty's latest conversion using Clearpath servo's, he uses a brake for the z-axis ...

Re: Teknic SDSK HLFB brake control issue

On the same thought Gary,
I think Axis1,2,3,4BrakeRelease sounds intriguing to try.

Thanks

You want Axis 3 (usually Z) brake release

Hi Marty,

I rewired Z-brake circuit to OUT 8, and configured it as Axis 3 Brake. It does work, but when I exit CNC12, Z axis still slides a bit rather that ...

Re: Teknic SDSK HLFB brake control issue

On the second thought Gary,

Doesn't this mean that my Z axis brake would be locked while attempting to Home the machine?

Re: Teknic SDSK HLFB brake control issue

Thanks Gary,

I jumped over mentioned output about zillion times and never thought it would be applicable in my case. Learned it otherwise now.
Thanks again!

Hi Gary,
I don't quite understand what you mean. Can you clarify it for me?

Integrating commands into G-code to trigger custom ports

Hello all,

I am a complete newbee to G-code, but am trying hard to wrap my mind around it. Recently installed an E1616 expansion board on my Acorn driven CNC router table and got it to work. Intention was to accessorize the machine with dust collection, vacuum hold down, mist, spindle cooling pump ...

Teknic SDSK HLFB brake control issue (Resolved)

Hello all,

Need some advice on how to handle Z axis sliding after shutting down CNC12 application or upon Power Up.

I am using Teknic SDSK servos on all my axis. Double drive Y axis with master and slave setup, X and Z single drives, with Z axis utilizing 24V brake assembly. The control of Z axis ...

Re: Decimal point in the wrong place

Hello all,

I just wanted to drop in and thank you guys for this post, which helped me to solve scaling issue on my router. I was off by x10 on DRO of my machine and now moving to solve the mirror image on Y axis :) I am suspecting that it has something to do with WCS and X,Y, Z orientation choices ...
