Re: spindle speed using a macro
Update on my spindle speed test. Nothing works the way I was thinking. The jog is disabled while the macro is running and the spindle is stopped as soon as the macro stops. So I guess his idea is dead. This is not a big thing, just something I thought I would try. I could set the minimum rpm to 1200...

Re: spindle speed using a macro
Thank you cncsnw. I can get the spindle started with a macro and while the spindle is running the jog functions still work, which allows me to step into my edge finder. A push of the escape key cancels the macro and of course the spindle stops. This works in my head at least. I will give it a try la...

Re: spindle speed using a macro
Thanks Scott That part I have but need to work on my macro. I tried to use the M42 medium speed range button and macro name since I don't use ranges on my machine. I think that may be a system used macro even though I am not using it. So my next step is to try one that has nothing to do with the spi...

spindle speed using a macro
I am using Acorn on a Bridgeport Mill and love it. Can I set spindle speed using an Aux key and a macro? I normally use an edge finder at 1200 rpm. The spindle starts at 500 rpm in manual mode and then I up the rpm using the + key. It is kind of a pain to get the rpm exactly where I want it and I al...

Hard wired estop
I am sure to get blasted here, but I want to know. I have my Bridgeport running well with Acorn and Gecko G320X drives. I wired my estop switch to cut all power when hit. I know that is not what was intended, but in an emergency I wanted no doubt at to what was going to have power. I do not use a sp...

Re: 50% Rapid Button
Thanks Marty
That sound like a good plan as I am sure I don't know what I am doing.
How do I contact Marc?

Re: 50% Rapid Button
At this point, that is over my head.
But now I know it is possible, I will be motivated to learn enough to get myself in trouble.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Re: 50% Rapid Button
Let me rephrase this question.
I was thinking of a macro which would preform the same task as the feed rate override. One VCP button for 50% and another button for 25% is what I am thinking. The question is mostly, can a macro do math?

50% Rapid Button
What would it take to have a 50% feed and rapid button?
The VCP works well, but a quick button would be nice during setups.

I should have mentioned that the short cut keys are becoming automatic quickly as I use this machine more and more.
The more I use it he more I like it also.
That is just incase anyone wants to know.
