Re: Overriding the fast jog speed?

I will experiment using the feedrate override controls. The reason I was asking the way I was was -- usually I end up calculating an exact speed I want though, so that's why I've been wanting to type it in.

Re: Overriding the fast jog speed?

Hi cnckeith, thank you for the suggestion. I would like to do exactly that! However as far as I can tell, the jog speed is not a writable parameter from a macro body, but rather read-only. Could you suggest how I could override the jog speed from a macro body?

Re: Overriding the fast jog speed?

I am aware of this functionality, and I use it often, but there is plenty of time that I just find it cumbersome to use and I want to use the jog buttons.

Overriding the fast jog speed?

I want to be able to push one of my aux buttons to get a typein to set the fast jog speed, so I can use the controller as a simple power feed. Variables #20301-20308 control this, but it looks in my manual (CNC12 allin1dc 4.14 mill manual) to be read-only. Any way I can set these without having to ...

Re: Few questions on a tool setup procedure (lathe) -- does this make sense?

Thanks Dana! Using the existing diameter of Probe #2 as a variable makes a lot of sense. Why on earth didn't I think of that the first time?

Re: Few questions on a tool setup procedure (lathe) -- does this make sense?

Lathes use U and W for incremental in X and Z respectively.

Thank you! That's obviously very good to know.

Not quite clear how I can use it for the parameters. For setting a tool offset, for example, can I:
G10 P12 W0
instead of:
G10 P12 Z0

I guess for the WCS, when I set the axis values ...

Few questions on a tool setup procedure (lathe) -- does this make sense?

I have a lathe running CNC12 on Allin1DC. It doesn't have a turret or gang setup; instead, it has a Dorian QCTP. I also don't have the Centroid tool touch-off (though I wish I did). Instead I'm trying to hack together a rough equivalent method for automatic tool measuring using a "reference tool ...

A couple of (hopefully) simple enhancement requests for milling

Just a couple features that would help with daily milling use that I've found myself doing.

Intercon: the ability for the Frame cycle to leave tabs would be really helpful. The alternative I'm using is a bunch of lines and a depth repeat, and leaving a tab on the contour. Not the most user-friendly ...

Re: Cycling through the spindle gears on an aux button

I shift the gears manually, and have to tell the control what gear I'm in.

Cycling through the spindle gears on an aux button

I have a lathe with 3 gears for speeds (outside of the VFD control). So it's a basic M41, M42, M43 to cycle between them. What I'd like to do is attach a macro to an AUX button on my control panel that

(A) Goes in that order.
(B) Flashes on the screen what range is set (or displays it permanently ...
