This is probably not large enough, but it is local.

Re: home made large bore indexer
Dean, I am making true involute splines. I am using tools from https://adventtoolusa.com/ . The holder was under $200 and the inserts are about $45 and you get two cutting edges. In the video, I would using a YAUSA SUDX-220. It looks like that has a 42mm bore, or 1.65in. I guess that would have not ...

Re: home made large bore indexer
Dean, I don't think it is worth the effort. Watch the local auctions (you are pretty close to me) and look for a CNC indexer. I got an 8in for under $400. It was to big for my application, so I sold it and purchased a really nice 6in unit. Check out my video where I used the 8in unit. https://youtu....

Re: Allin1DC Normally Closed Probe
I found a solution to the problem. Basically I gave up:) It seems that there is no simple way to make a NC probe work with an Allin1DC. I reached out to Centroid directly and I was told to buy some tech help at $90 an hour. Looking at the KP-3 probe, it is also a Normally closed probe, but yet they ...

Re: Allin1DC Normally Closed Probe
CNCSNW, Once again, thanks for all of the help. I didn't have much time to work on the mill, but I was excited to try your change to the PLC you listed. I added the and functions as you described and gave it a try. This fixed the jogging functions with the probe disconnected and I thought I was good...

Re: Allin1DC Normally Closed Probe
After a long delay, I finally got back to this and made some good progress. I did what CNCSNW said and used his PLC program and added the line to invert the probe input (769). I then set parameter 11 = 50769 (positive). Those few changes got me 90% there. Now the spindle inhibit works as intended an...

Re: Allin1DC Normally Closed Probe
CNCNW, Thanks for the reply. I haven't touched the PLC program since I got the machine running almost two years ago. Obviously I must not have done something correct back then. I will need to research the PLC setup and figure out how to properly use your base file. Will I loose all of my setting if ...

Re: Allin1DC Normally Closed Probe
I did verify that the input (771) is working and changes state when I plug in the probe. What is the state of INP771 when the probe is plugged in? What is the state of INP771 when the probe is unplugged? INP771 = Off (red) when not plugged in, on (Green) when plugged in. For ref: INP769 = Off (red)...

Re: Allin1DC Normally Closed Probe
Nobody has any thoughts?
Just to repeat, I got the actual probing working. It does all of the built in probing functions. My problem are:
-It allows me to start the spindle whether I have the probe plugged in or not.
-It only allows 1x JOG with the probe is unplugged.
Thanks in advance,
Tim
