Re: System Test, only one limit switch per axis

Thanks!!!

I passed the test. I am getting close to making some chips.
I would like to see photos of the conversion of the protrak since this system is a cousin of mine.
Can you share some photos?

I have more. What do you want to see?

Thanks,
Tim

System Test, only one limit switch per axis

I am making great progress on my Prototrak DPM to Allin1DC conversion. I believe I am ready to run the system test and get rid of the warning screen that pops up every time you turn on the machine. The only issue is I have decided to move forward with just having a single limit switch on each axis a...

Re: Snubbers 101

What about on the relay output of an Allin1DC turning on and off a simple lube pump. It seems like overkill to have one on there, but the Centroid schematic shows one.

Thanks,
Tim

Re: Limit Switch Question

You can't use the same switch for both limits. When you move into a limit, the control will only allow you to move in the opposite direction to clear the error. If both limits are tripped at the same time (i.e. using the same switch) then you will not be able to move the machine at all. This makes ...

Re: Limit Switch Question

If you'll look up that switch part number, you'll see one wire is common, one NC contacted, one NO contacts, and a frame ground. That switch might work depending on the travel. The control only allows 1\2 motor turn for hone switch hysteresis. It will be a home/limit switch at one end and you'll ne...

Limit Switch Question

I am making great progress on my Allin1DC install. I am retrofitting a Prototrak DPM Mill. Here are some pictures for reference. Mill When I first got it a few months back. dpm.JPG Its current State. Re: Feed rate override without operator control panel

OK, I feel a bit stupid but I think I have figured this out. mpg1.jpg So, if you rotate the knob to feed, then the MPG wheel becomes a 0-100% speed command? Once again I am still in the wiring phase and have never actually used a Centroid system. It just came to mind while I was going through the sc...

Re: Feed rate override without operator control panel

You are correct. You might consider the Wireless MPG. Very handy, will give you manual axis Jog, Spindle override and feed rate over ride. Marty This might be a chicken and egg problem. Since I haven't actually used the machine, I am not sure what it can all do:) I have the wireless MPG, but of cou...

Feed rate override without operator control panel

I am installing an Allin1DC and I am making good progress on the wiring, etc. I have a touch screen setup along with the wireless MPG. I don't want/need the Centroid control panel, but I would like to setup a wired feed rate override pot/switch. The Anilam system I am currently using has this and I ...
