Marty i'm unable to get down to 3.2 volts can got down to would 3.3v would that still work?

sorry its the whole machine i know its a cheap laser machine but would be nice to replace the Chinese controller with some thing way better. mainly i want to be able to control the laser power etc.

Thanks for the responses i ended up buying a good used computer with built in ethernet adaptor.

not sure if it will work but i thought i should ask before buying a new computer. i have a computer with out ethernet port but thunderbolt adaptor will this work or should i look in to a new computer thanks?

Thanks for all the great suggestions. but i and kinda changing directions. a friend is giving me an old Emco compact 5 . it dose have a dc motor on it is it worth while using the dc motor or swap to a ac and vfd if so any recommendations.

I'm in the process of retrofitting a hardinge dsm 59 to be cnc. was thinking of using the variable belt drive. instead of relying on the vfd drive to adjust the speed this way i can maintain the full torque at all speeds. right now its a electric motor that adjusts the belt. not sure if the acorn is...
