Re: Found the limits of pushing the computer
I'm not pushing just to find the limits...It's a real time saver to be able to begin programming the next job while one is running. The alternative is to keep transferring programs and tool files between computers. I'd also have to leave the machine running alone as I program inside the office. I un...

Found the limits of pushing the computer
Well, I've been running the all-in-one for almost 2 years with an i7 intel 8 core processor. It does so well that I started to push the limits. I first realized that I could run and edit Inventor at the same time I was running a job...no problem. Then I found I could surf the web, run Inventor, mani...

Re: A couple of (hopefully) simple enhancement requests for milling
Oh...forgot the biggy in one word..."thread milling", LOL. It is built into Fusion, and a hugely expensive upgrade for intercon. After thread milling I will never spin another tap unless I just can't get the work on my table. I have to say I am floored. The jobs you guys are doing would be...

Re: A couple of (hopefully) simple enhancement requests for milling
I am a visual person. To this day I cannot tell what intercon is going to do without making dry practice runs. The graph mode is 1980's comp sci at best. I also get bogged down because the parameter inputs are usually darked out, but the program wants them. I have to go to an unwanted mode to insert...

Re: A couple of (hopefully) simple enhancement requests for milling
I spent 2 weeks on intercon and realized it is too limited to spend any more time on. There are other CAM programs that flat leave it in the dust. Your desire for controlled jogs can be worked out in the PLC program to do what you are asking. The PLC is a very cool way to customize your machine to d...

Re: Powering the spindle
I am a bit confused...I think you are asking if you can use the same power feed to both the control box and the VFD. That will work fine. That gives the VFD power, but unless you plan to run the motor completely manually, you will also have to run control wires from the controller to the VFD, to coo...

Re: Software Recomendations?
Unless your budget is over $10k, I would find a way to get over your convictions about Fusion. I can't stand Autodesk either...but there is not really any 3d alternative that cheap (free) with virtually unlimited online support. There are literally hundreds of tutorials on youtube. In a weekend you ...

Re: Control locking up?
Computers have come a long way since 2010. I paid $300 for my Intel i7 with a terrabyte of storage. I can run the mill, search the web for unit conversions and work the next job on Autocad Inventor...all at the same time and the mill doesn't skip a beat.

Re: Encoder Differential Error
You're not alone...I am constantly getting confused about which side of the connector the diagram is showing. Sometimes it is not that clear.

Re: Encoder Differential Error
If the motors are not hooked up, the E stop will trigger without showing "EStop", and your error message will be...wait for it...encoder diff error. When the machine tries to move the servos, it looks for an appropriate encoder movement in the correct direction. If there is no motion, or b...
