Re: Voltage on DB25
If the STEP signals aren't inverted, which I can see from your report that they're not, then you should see +5VDC on pins 2,4,6 and 8 after the software starts. It sounds like you may have damage to pin 4 on the DB25. I am confused that changing pins didn't help. Are you sure that drive works when ...

Re: Voltage on DB25
The mapping of the DB25 can be changed in the wizard. Depending on the mapping the polarity and voltage of the pin can change. A screen shot of the mapping could help. Most of us appreciate the time and effort that Marty put into this forum, most of the new members don't take the time to read the l...

Re: Voltage on DB25
Well, no way to tell if .08 v is wrong or right! Reason: If it is for the step output then your meter may not, and most likely can not, read the high and low of the pulse step. [good place for using an o-scope] If it was for the Direction signal then the signal will go high or go low to reverse the...

Re: Voltage on DB25
Oh for God's sake Marty, you just can't wait to post that can you? All I have asked is whether 0.8v on pin 4 is an indication that something is fried. A photo of my lathe isn't going to help. If it is what type of photo do you want to see? Shall I just keep taking photos until you post something oth...

Voltage on DB25
So I have been using the centroid acorn for a year with DMM drives - dyn4 for the spindle, DYN2 for x and z on my lathe build. (caveat I had I believe an intermittent noise issue and have since changed the layout of my board/controller.) Before changing the board layout I messed with the DYn4 tuning...

Re: Acorn 12 Spindle Speed Problem
Which bit resolved the issue? Grounding the shield or the capacitor?

Re: DMM/Acorn/Taig Build Thread
It would be good if you posted the details, DMMDRV screenshot, what wiring diagram you used, screen shots of your CNC12 input and output screens. They would be of great help to other users doing the same thing. Thank you Marty Sure thing. I'm just having a little trouble as I have just built a new ...

Re: DMM/Acorn/Taig Build Thread
I realise I'm late to the party with this but Threedj had asked me to post a video of my rigid tapping. This was my first attempt in stainless mid to late last year. If anyone wants any info on settings etc let me know

Re: Parameters Back Up Copy
I've just been trying to create a report zip for the first time as I have a new PC and it won't play ball. I have the Pro lathe version and wondered if it was a license issue. Will try copying the cnct directory over tomorrow.

Re: Using DMM 750W servo as spindle motor
Hi Mike, Did you resolve the motor spinning slowly, I'm using a 750w DMM DYN4 motor as a spindle. Switched onposrange to 111 and max speed to 13 as suggested by DMM but this only stopped the motor creeping when in rs232, as soon as I switch to analogue it starts again. Wondered if you found a soluti...
