Clearpath setup is so simple a child could do it.
All you need is a GOOD USB cable and to follow the onscreen instructions.
They literally tune themselves.
My only other suggestion to to write to the motor often and make a backup copy to your PC.

Re: No Motion With Clearpath On First Try <user resolved>
I think I found it. Clearpath's system relies on a micro USB cable connection to read and write setup files to the motor. I think the cable I was using was reading from the motor, but not writing to it. Thus the files the motor was using were not being updated from the default. All I did was to use ...

Re: No Motion With Clearpath On First Try
Mike,
Here is my MSP Setup; My only setup difference from you is I have my HLFB set to Servo On.
This is so I can use it as a drive OK signal to the relay board as per Acorn's A14972 schematic.
I can't find anything in the configuration of the motors I have wrong.

Re: No Motion With Clearpath On First Try
Are the shafts on the ClearPath motors locked? The enable signal should lock the shafts. You wrote that you have green LEDs, so the shafts should be locked. Tell us about how you've wired the motors. Page 171 of the ClearPath user's manual shows that wires, Black, White, and Blue should be connecte...

Re: No Motion With Clearpath On First Try
Software dutifully updated.
Same problem exists.
Something must be set wrong.

No Motion With Clearpath On First Try (Resolved)
Hi Guys I'm using my Acorn to power a simple three axis router. I bench tested my Acorn when I got it with three very cheap Chinese steppers without any problems. I'm now using three Clearpath SDHP motors. They tuned nicely and I can run them back and forth using Clearpath MSP. Everything is wired a...

Re: 5vdc to 8 Relay Output Board - How?
Thanks for clarifying that.
The earlier 8 relay boards had a separate wire to run to the P/S.

5vdc to 8 Relay Output Board - How?
How is the 5vdc supplied to the 8 relay board?
Is it through the ribbon cable?
Every Acorn wiring diagram with the newer ribbon cable design I've seen has the 5vdc terminal on the power supply unused.
Does the Acorn have a DC/DC convertor to take the 24 to 5?
