Re: x-x+ jogging moves in the same direction in the x- direction <resovled>

You can use the DB25 cable with flying leads. Provided you connect the leads CORRECTLY Suggest you make a small spreadsheet or chart with the DB25 pin number and color and match it to the Acorn Function on its DB25 and then a column to where you will land those wires on the drives. To make sure you...

Re: x-x+ jogging moves in the same direction in the x- direction <resovled>

Marty and Keith are correct, those stepper drives need to be wired to the DB25 to work reliably. You need a breakout board and the drives wire to it. Here's a link to a breakout board from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073RG3GG6/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&...

Re: x-x+ jogging moves in the same direction in the x- direction <resovled>

I see, i just wired it by the standard wiring diagram but i can see where the db25 would be benificial. I am currently using the acorn power supply 5v terminal and sharing it between the drives but the db25 will supply its own 5v. I will order one and do it that way. Are there any other benifits? Th...

Re: x-x+ jogging moves in the same direction in the x- direction

ok, i definatly have an issue in the control cab, i suspect stray voltage. I removed acorn, power supply, and motor driver from cabinet and wired on bench and x works as expected! So although this means a complete rewire im happy that acorn is ok! Thanks for your help keith!

Re: x-x+ jogging moves in the same direction in the x- direction

Not sure if this is relevant or not but i also noticed that if i hit estop/reset on the vcp my y axis stays locked and cant be moved manually. X and Z unlock and can be moved. Verry strange.

Re: x-x+ jogging moves in the same direction in the x- direction

I uploaded a report in first post. I have never seen the inverted setting you speak of i will have to check. I do have the direction reversed in the axis setup menu at the bottom of x and y but i have always had it that way, if i change from Y to N on that option my drives worked just backwards.
