Re: New CRP DMM DYN4 machine, odd motion

Hey,

I have to second the suggestions. Chased my tail for 4 months over the cables. Pulled the resistor, added 5v and wired step and Dir to a DB25 BOB and all issues solved.

It works perfect now. I was losing steps on all 3 axis on even small slow 100ipm projects.

Re: Refit of old CandCNC Machine

Hey Guys, I rewired the other two drives today and put it all back together. It is astounding the difference it made. I used the same files that previously would start good and then by the end of the carve be unreadable. This file I ran last week and it turned out garbage. Today after switching to t...

Re: Refit of old CandCNC Machine

Hey Everyone, So today the USPS dropped off the DB-25 I ordered. I was given permission to head to the shop for a bit so I took the DMM cable apart and removed the 2K resistor. Moved the white wire to that pad and then ran a new block to have 5v power near the Acorn board. As advised I Ran the white...

Re: Refit of old CandCNC Machine

I ordered the DB25 BOB from Amazon. It should be here on Monday. I will take the connectors I have off which is the DMM made up connectors and do the resistor removal mod and add the 5v to the brown wire. Looks like I'm not the lone Ranger on this one. I have to rework my box a bit to accommodate th...

Re: Refit of old CandCNC Machine

Hey GUys, Back once again. I have all the mechanical issues ironed out and I am fighting the DMM Snake Head. I consistently have issues with the motors losing steps or something. In a pocket, it leaves steps on the left side. On an engraved circle yesterday it made an oval. It just consistently move...

Re: Refit of old CandCNC Machine

Hey Guys, I just wanted to give an update. I have had my x-axis motor plate machined to give me belt tension adjustment. So we now have that eliminated from the equation. Yesterday when I was working on the machine after doing all this I was still having a small 1/32 or so step on the left side when...

Re: Refit of old CandCNC Machine

I meant timing pulley. I had the timing pully securely on the motor shaft. I messed it up taking it off. Luckily I have 2 spare pullies I discovered. They were all originally made for 3/8 shaft so I need to drill it out in the morning. Then I will put the x-axis motor on the Z-axis and see what happ...

Re: Refit of old CandCNC Machine

I did swap drives today and that didn’t change anything. Working on switching motors but now have to order a new timing gear.
