Re: 4th Axis erros

A quick update : I've got the new encoder installed and working which is great. Thanks, everyone for your help and comments above. Note: I did need to reverse the servo power wires as the new encoder presumably counts +ve in the opposite direction to the last. Next problem : I'm now trying to sort ...

4th Axis erros

Hi all, thanks in advance for any help or ideas. My machine is a 3 axis bed mill with a Yuasa UDX-14001 4th axis unit on it (see images). The control is an M400S, system ID 0611071030. Report attached. IMG_4678.jpeg Recently, during a long job, the 4th axis started to drift. This became apparent as ...

Wanted: Renco Encoder (or Electrocraft E643 DC servo w/ encoder) to suit Yuasa 4th Axis

Hi all, my 4th axis unit developed a leak which resulted in the encoder failing. I'm keen to replace the encoder if possible. The original servo is an Electrocraft E643 DC servo (by Reliance Motion Control) and the encoder is a Renco PN: 77678-157. Any help or leads would be much appreciated. IMG_46...

Re: 410 Y axis(2) position error

There is a possibility that the MOSFET failure on the servo drive was caused by progressive breakdown of the motor. Look up Tech Bulletin 155 and take a close look at the motor resistance -- especially the resistance between the power leads and chassis ground. Just checked the servo that was on the...

Re: Centroid M-15

Yes, that's correct. Disconnecting that particular cable and reconnecting it spurs the screen into working correctly. But when you shut down, you have to go through this operation again to get the screen back? CNC software shows correctly? Before you unplug/reconnect the cable, do you see a faint i...

Re: Centroid M-15

My screen is doing the same thing. I removed the PC from the cabinet today (the entire assembly) and bench tested. The problem happens every time I restart (which I've been doing a lot of in the last few days - see my other post re y-axis not working). With the motherboard removed, I can gain acces...
