Thanks for making these Keith, looking forward to the full video.
Regarding the video you posted, did you set "X diam" and "z ref" prior to doing the "measure z and x"?
Is there going to be a write up of the full auto tool measurement process?

Re: tool z and x ref and offsets discussion for lathe auto tool touch off
Thanks for jumping in and reading the whole thread! the manual says x diam is "set for OD". it would seem that you should do all your OD tools, reset "x diam" with the reverse X probe seek direction, and then do your ID tools with the new "x diam" from the X+ direction....

Re: tool z and x ref and offsets discussion for lathe auto tool touch off
One lathe tool setup method 1.) home machine 2.) set X zero with Tool #1 (x offset = 0 Z offset =0) make a skim cut on scrap material, measure diameter, enter diameter in X part zero setup screen press f10 to save. 3.) Insert probe into spindle 4.) Set up X reference position: highlight Tool #1 X o...

Re: tool z and x ref and offsets discussion for lathe auto tool touch off
So, let me get this straight.... with a few questions 1) The current documentation is not adequate for you to understand the process? And the video(s) were no help either? yes, I was not able to infer the correct auto tool setting procedure from the video detailing the manual process. 2) So do you ...

Re: taper cam
The better way to turn a center point is with the profile routine. I think this is the advice I was looking for. I was not sure what operation was best which is why I asked if I should use a line or something... Attached is the .lth file I had tried to use but didn't seem to use the depth of cut pa...

Re: taper cam
this question was about intercon. I have attached the .cnc file which seems to ignore depth of cut. I was not able to grok the instructions in the manual on page 102 which does not seem to mention if you can control the depth of cut while using the taper parameters.

Re: tool z and x ref and offsets discussion for lathe auto tool touch off
I'd like to write a response detailing how centroid could look to other community supported products and consider making some changes to how it treats it's customers. I do not get the feeling it would be received with an open mind. Most of the responses to this thread feel like the first post was sk...

Re: tool z and x ref and offsets discussion for lathe auto tool touch off
I have asked quite a few questions but I don't see any responses. Wondering if my questions are stupid or covered somewhere in the manual where I have missed them?
I've also updated the first post and was looking for feedback on that.
GBCues also had a question that went unanswered.

taper cam
when I setup a taper it seems to ignore the depth of cut and starts the cut at z0 and moves linearly to X12.75 Z-11. My taper is -30degree and Z start is 0 and z end is -11. my diameter is 12.75 and my depth of cut is 0.1. Should I be using a line to do this? Is anyone using this CAM often? I like t...

Re: TB6600 aka tb67s249ftg
the 24v enable? wouldn't that need a 5v pullup? I'm not using the stock supply now so I'd need to add a 5v source. The enable on the headers could be used.
