The only thing I think I can make out from that video is that you have X and Y setup backwards or you are confused about Cartesian coordinate system. X is left to right movement and Y is front to back.

I agree with Scott, sounds like a bad connection somewhere. Go through EVERY screw terminal on EVERY board and check each connection and re-tighten it.

Since these are Clearpath you obviously cant swap the driver.

You can run those drives on Acorn. You can try to wire them up the same as the Y series drive but if it were me I would wire them to the DB25 using a breakout board for more reliable operation.
