Re: Control Box advice

I'm not sure that's as much of an issue as the backplane itself, it that plastic?

Edit, I see your other post and see that it is plastic. This is not best practice for control cabinets but it looks like it's too late anyway. :D

Re: Thc problem

Great, can you post screen shots of the "calculation error" you are talking about? Please start a Google photo album with picture of your machine and control cabinet as well. You are on the right track with your new drive settings. As Keith stated change your screen resolution to 1920x1080...

Re: Thc problem

Hi Tamar, before you fix your THC issue you need to setup your machine correctly. Your "steps per revolution" in the wizard are not setup correctly. Please read this topic and correct the steps per revolution on your machine. These numbers need to match the settings on your drives. https:/...

Re: IPGregory Build and Progress Thread

Glad you are making progress. Is it an Intel NIC? Just curious. The “update” is really a fresh install so screen shots are the absolute perfect backup because you can’t always restore an older report when jumping to a much newer version. Store those screen shots on a thumb drive, the cloud or anothe...

Re: Acorn plasma software

I’m not 100% sure what the advantages of the ultimate software are but I have the pro version and do mostly production work on my plasma and it does everything I need it to. There’s also a post processor for SheetCam if you are going to use that CAD/CAM software. The plasma software has some really ...

Re: IPGregory Build and Progress Thread

Good to know. When you get back you can dig deeper. Not to mislead you, they do make proximity switches specifically designed for non-ferrous metals like aluminum or even brass but the cheap Chinese ones that we use are designed for ferrous metals. Aluminum will trip them but I wouldn't trust it for...

Re: IPGregory Build and Progress Thread

A quick question for you, are those vertical black plates on either side of the gantry made from aluminum or steel? It appears you are using those as “flags” for your prox switches. If they are aluminum they won’t be accurate. Prox switches need ferrous metal for accurate detection. I know you menti...

Re: Recommendations for PC to run p.m. 940 conversion

While you are still in the configuration stage you should update your CNC12 software to the latest 4.8 version. You are using old software, version 4.64. There are many new features in the latest version and it's easier for others to help if we are all using the same software. Make sure the servos a...
