Re: Restoring file report - error

You can’t restore a report from 4.20 into 4.64. Hopefully you have screen shots of all your wizard settings from 4.20. Delete the 4.64 version and reinstall. Then MANUALLY input all the wizard settings into 4.64 from your 4.20 wizard pics. Make sense? It’ll take less than 20 minutes and you’ll be up...

Re: Cnc12 résolution d'écran

Hello, I translated your question via Google Translate and hope I understand what you are asking. Are you using a 1920x1080 LCD monitor and have the resolution set correctly? 1920x1080 (HD) is preferred, other sizes with a 16:9 aspect ratio will work but screens may be shrunk to fit. Square 4:3 moni...

Re: AVID PRO Router with Retracting ATC Rack

Great work, love how everything just flows. Like the dust dock as well. I’m getting ready to start a new retrofit of a Biesse Rover next week and will be adding a sliding ATC rack. Mine will slide up and down basically retracting down out of the way into the frame so if I need to machine any long st...

Re: Having trouble with my step count.

What drives do you have on the system? Where are they wired to? Not that this will make a big difference but you are running Acorn version 4.5 which is old, you should upgrade to 4.64. We simply need more system information. What's a speed step reducer? Do you mean a gearbox?

Re: Draft Acorn Installation Manual for comment

I have noticed that digital stepper drivers can hook right up to the headers. I have DM556T on my AZYX4004 and they are going right off the headers. On my lathe and mill they are on the headers but they are hybrid. As Keith stated most all steppers should be hooked to the DB25, digital or not. Many...

Re: Plasma Version of CNC12 Wish list

It might be the poor mans system, but it's nice and simple. Has worked flawlessly for me. You can dial back the setting for thin stuff. Different strokes for different folks. The ohmic system sounds intriguing. I need to look into that system further. Sometimes though its nice to not have to buy ye...

Re: Plasma Version of CNC12 Wish list

The Shop Sabre 5x10 I use requires the machine to be homed at start up. I think it's a requirement so the machine knows how large the table is and doesn't try to cut outside that dimension. Then I toss on a piece of steel and set the part zero. That's why there are machine coordinates and work coord...

Re: Is my laptop good to run Acorn

Laptops are not recommended because of their power saving features that can unexpectedly turn hardware off on you while it's running. Use at your own risk. Check your local Craigslist or eBay for a capable PC. I buy them locally all the time with Win10 Pro installed, 8GB RAM and a 120GB SSD ...

Re: Default Spindle Speed for Voltage Test

Centroid just released a brand new Acorn Installation Manual with all the bench test procedures in it. Here's a link, see section 4.2 starting on page 19. For the bench test, yes, you set it at 3000 which is the default. When you are done with the bench test set it to your spindles max speed. https:...
