Re: Setting dip switches for CL86T and CL57T (V4.1)

Your DIP switch setting should be fine. The only questionable one is #5 as you may need to switch direction depending on how it mounted to get the correct direction from it. You can also change the direction in the Wizard. You then also need to set the steps/rev in the Acorn wizard to 4000 since tha...

Re: Z Axis lag - Loosing position

The acme lead screw is only adding to the resistance that the Z axis has to endure. A simple gas strut for a counterbalance may be a cheap and easy fix. Let us know how it goes after the drives are wired to the DB25.

Re: Z Axis lag - Loosing position

Uwe is correct, those are 5v drives and need to be wired to the DB25 for reliable operation. You possibly also need a counter balance on the Z axis as you may be asking too much of the motor and drive combo you installed.

Re: Setting dip switches for CL86T and CL57T (V4.1)

The switches don't serve the same purpose. If you want more help you should post a link to the manual for your drive and motor. We can't possibly know what motors you have or what all the switches do for that particular drive. You need to match the drive to the motor current and then the step/rev to...

Re: Help on isolation switch fit two circuits/power supplies

You don't have to house the VFD in a separate cabinet. You DO have to employ good practices. Very well stated Tom. I see so many problem builds where builders use unshielded cable everywhere and wonder why they have noise. I also put my VFD in the same cabinet as the rest of the system. If the syst...

..... I did not expect to have to go into "DB 25 connector - mapping" to activate the screw terminals. For now all is well, I seem to love overcome this hurdle, and i'm ready for the next. Thanks for your help. Steve I agree Steve, I've had a few customers get confused by this page title ...

Re: Help on isolation switch fit two circuits/power supplies

It's highly doubtful that your 3KW spindle/VFD package will draw anywhere near what you are thinking. We or should I say "I" cannot suggest a circuit breaker size for you, this is something you'll have to calculate from your components. It's also not advisable to have your dedicated CNC PC...
