Re: Acorn voltage output

The oc4 controls the spin fwd. I’ll try the bench test. Thanks

One of the Acorns relay outputs (1-8) is programmed to activate "spinFWD", hence my confusion to anything called oc4. Did you mean OUT4?

Post a current report so we can see how you have the Acorn configured and a link to your VFD ...

Re: Acorn voltage output

I'm not sure what you mean by oc4 and "the other terminals on that block" but the analog voltage comes out of the Acorn on the H8 terminals. There's only two terminals.

To test the Acorn you should run the "spindle bench test" procedure outline in the install manual in section 4.2. This will tell ...

Re: Acorn 5.3 uprgade from 4.8 help with Tool Touch Off! <resolved>

You WILL want to configure an input for "probe detect" to enable the safety features in the software for touch probes when you install yours. It will keep you from destroying the probe. :o

A rack mount ATC is a piece of cake with the new software. What ATC spindle do you have?

Re: Acorn 5.3 uprgade from 4.8 help with Tool Touch Off!

On the last machine I retrofit I had a FIXED and MOVABLE mechanical tool touch off. Both were identical devices. The FIXED one was setup in the wizard as a tool touch off and permanently mounted on the tool rack and the MOVABLE one was setup as a touch plate, even though it is a mechanical tool ...

Re: Acorn 5.3 uprgade from 4.8 help with Tool Touch Off!

Currently on my skin the button says "auto Z to plate" which doesn't really do what i need

I give up for now on this, thanks to the forum for the tips

That button on the VCP will touch off the tool using your movable tool touch off anywhere on the material surface or machine bed. The stock ...

Yup, maybe he also wasn't aware of the boxes to check in the wizard to NOT overwrite certain files.

Re: Acorn custom plc not over written buy wizard

So this can be done without the USB BOB?

Yes, I have several hardwired buttons and switches on my routers wired to Acorn inputs. You do not need to do any custom programming to make cycle start or feed hold buttons work.

You will wire two buttons to two of the Acorn inputs. Assign CycleStart2 ...

Re: NEW BUILD! Chinese CNC 1313 replacing mach3

I use Park for parking, so I have only small way travel to home the machine next day.

On the end of a PP I like to have G28 or G30 Px, because I can teachin these positions in CNC12 without writing a single line, so I can set them up easy peasy for the shortest travel to change material for the ...

Re: NEW BUILD! Chinese CNC 1313 replacing mach3

thanks! the only thing i changed from your file is the location of the rear park function. (ive been trying to figure out how to do that, so thank you. )

You can edit the park.mac macro from within the wizard and set the location to where ever you want. This way you don't have to edit the PP and ...

I don't have an ATC spindle yet, I was waiting for a manageable software approach before doing the upgrade.

I will want a spindle in the 6 hp range as that's what my current spindle is now and I like it ...
