Re: Dialing in Lathe Tools

I was wondering of you could have T0801 and T0802...two different offsets.
Yes, but you might want to reserve offsets 01 and 02 for turret positions 01 and 02.

Maybe use offsets 08 and 09 for your multiple tools in position 8 (i.e. "T0808" and "T0809").

Re: M15 Z Bump generating a 907 Error

According to your report, your G30 Z position is at machine zero. Line 149 of your M6 macro moves Z to the G30 position. Line 151 moves X and Y over the new tool. Line 153 calls M15 to open the drawbar. So you are calling M15 while Z is at machine zero. Your travel limits do not permit moving any hi...

Re: switching between 3 & 4 axis modes

When you use the features associated with Parameter 131 to switch between 3-axis and 4-axis mode, CNC12 does silently ignore the 4th-axis homing commands ("M92/A" and "M26/A"). Unfortunately, that exemption does not extend to all other uses of the 'A' axis. You could make your ot...

Re: Overriding the fast jog speed?

Have you considered just overriding the jog speed using the feedrate override controls? That is what they are for, after all. If you use the jog panel pendant, it even comes with a knob you can quickly and easily turn up and down. If you are limited to using the virtual control panel (VCP), you stil...

Re: CNC12 BETA v5.23 rev5 is now available for public testing

My opinion, for what it's worth: If the probe and TT share a trip input, then there should be no problem with sharing a detect input (provided the control builder provides only one plug connection). If the probe and TT use different trip inputs, then it would be reasonable to make separate detect in...

Re: wireless MPG loses co-ordinates, need reboot

I don't have any ideas regarding the loss of software communication between CNC12 and the WMPG. However, you should be able to reboot the console (Windows PC) without powering off the Centroid control board (e.g. Oak or MPU11 or whatever control board you happen to have). Just put it in emergency st...

Re: CPU7 Controller starting to fault

My guess is you just need to clean the servo drive logic power supply connections.

Re: Bought an Acorn board already installed for a change, need a hand...

Axis configuration, spindle configuration, probe setup parameters, etc. -- in other words, all the contents of the CNC12 configuration and parameter screens -- are in the report_*.txt file that is inside the report_*.zip file. If you have not already done so, you should configure your Windows system...

CNC system variable #4119 holds the last (RPM-mode) 'S' command.

See section 8.2.16 in the Lathe operator's manual.

Re: ATC M6 Macro ToolRackOut not working

You may need to modify the PLC program to use a single-coil (spring-return) solenoid. Also, this is a good illustration of why "MoveSomethingIn" and "MoveSomethingOut" are not the best names to use for outputs. "In" and "Out" often mean different things to dif...
