Re: AllinOne, Add 1616 and Delta C2000 with PG01L card

A very cursory review of your PLC program suggests that a complete tool change (orient, followed by tool unclamp) is the only scenario that the author of that PLC program considered. The M5 macro will cancel the M19 request, but that does not appear to remove the orient command to the spindle drive....

Re: Multi Spindle CNC Router control options

Keith,

What can you tell us about M333, and whether it could be applied to this type of machine?

Re: Hardinge CHNC II+ Hickory LeadShine EL7 Retrofit

Okay. This is probably an omission in my Hickory/CHNC program. I think there is a circular dependency between enabling the MPG with the axis-select knob, and enabling it with the VCP MPG key. This issue would be unique to Gary's program for this project, and not generally representative of Centroid ...

Re: Hardinge CHNC4 Retrofit

Check that the encoder is securely clamped to the end of the ballscrew (i.e. check and reseat the setscrews in the shaft collar).

Check belt tension between the X servo motor and the ballscrew.

Re: Hardinge CHNC II+ Hickory LeadShine EL7 Retrofit

Can you enable the MPG by pressing the yellow "MPG" button on the Virtual Control Panel? If you do so, does the handwheel then work to move the selected axis? I think that maybe the only thing missing is to automatically enable the MPG when you turn the axis selector knob from "OFF&qu...

Re: Siemens Spindle Servo (15Kw) ALLINONEDC Hurco BMC-30

Good catch. If I had had more time last week, I would have posted the attached schematic page. See X431-81, on lines 21-22. On the Quickdrill, I wired that signal through an immediate contact of the safety relay, so that opening the safety relay forces the drive to fast-stop the motor. See also line...

Re: today i drafted a discussion paper on tool height offset methods

The "Reference Tool" is the tool, real or imaginary, that is the standard length against which all the other tools' length offsets are measured. "Z Reference" is the head position (Z axis DRO reading) at which the Reference Tool touches the surface that you are going to measure t...

Re: Newbie Intercon question

Yes. If you want to make an array of circular pockets, then two Repeat cycles will do it.

The first Repeat copies the Pocket cycle down the remainder of the first row.

The second Repeat copies the Pocket plus the first Repeat, to make the remaining rows.

Re: NPT Threads in Intercon - Workflow

You could make your Turn cycle turn a taper. Assuming you are doing external threads, then for the final diameter, enter the major diameter you want at the large (Z-) end of the thread, and for the taper angle enter the half angle, as a negative number (-1.7899 degrees for NPT threads). Parameters f...
