Re: Legacy CNC7 Assistance Needed

DOS-based controls do not require a computer shutdown procedure. Just turn off the power.

If it makes you feel better, you can press Ctrl-Alt-X to exit to the DOS prompt, then turn off the power.

Re: Yaskawa V1000 and Mitsubishi SJ-N SPindle motor

HC and H1 are a safety inhibit circuit. If you do not install external wiring through an emergency stop contactor or safety relay, then you need a jumper from HC to H1. If that circuit is open, the drive will not run, and the drive would display "Hbb", for "hardware base-blocked"...

Re: Program restarts after M30

The function of M2 is to wait for the cycle start button, then restart the program (just as you report it doing above). As far as I know, there is no way to get CNC12 to redraw running G-code screen to show that it is running the first line of the program, without having it be running the program. I...

Re: Program restarts after M30

It probably has not made it into the manual yet. From the release notes for CNC11 v3.16: Lathe: The "Restart Program" action of the default M30 is now selectable. Parameter 2 bit 6 (value 64) selects whether or not the default M30 will act like a default M2 (Restart Program). If set on, th...

Re: Slavtec touch probe

If you want to use your touch probe for setting Z axis part zero, then it needs to have a height offset, compatible with all your other height offset measurements. There are two common ways of doing that. One is to use the touch probe as the Reference Tool, so the value of its height offset is zero....

Re: Program restarts after M30

You could also just delete the M30 code from the end of your CNC programs. Then they will end normally when they come to the end of the file, regardless of what CNC11 or CNC12 version you happen to be using.

Re: Program restarts after M30

In some software versions (e.g. v3.14), the default M30 acts like an M2 (restart the program). In other software versions (e.g. v3.12 and earlier), the default M30 does nothing at all (allowing the program to end). In other software versions (e.g. v3.16 and later) the default M30 action is selectabl...

Re: Z-axis brake hookup help

Is the Z motor load low (negligible) if you uncouple the motor from the ballscrew, and just jog the free motor?

That would tell you whether the brake is actually releasing or not.

Re: M400S Will not Boot Up

Yes, it is worth checking connections. I suspect a corrupted SSHD though. The "Booting Desktop..." message is part of the Suse Linux boot process, which comes from the SSHD. Normally, the next messages would be "root (hd0,0)" and "Filesystem type is ...". See ca. 0:05 i...

Re: Forkhart 5C Rotary indexer and Allin1DC

Do you have a manual for this indexer? Perhaps it requires that the CNC turn the request back off after a short delay, before it will give the completion signal. I had in mind that you would enter the codes above in a new macro (e.g. "mfunc12.mac" if you wanted it to be M12) rather than re...
