Oak does not read absolute encoder data, so I presume that you would not connect such a pin anywhere.

Just connect incremental encoder channels (A, /A, B, /B, Z, /Z, and a common reference).

What you want is probably the "Centroid Mill Operator Manual" or the "Centroid Lathe Operator Manual".

Yes, the "5V COM" connections on the Oak header are used for analog common. I strongly recommend velocity mode rather than torque mode. The CNC12 Autotune is rudimentary, and only for the feed-forward terms (Kg, Kv1 and Ka). It will not help you tune Kp, Ki and Kd for stability or responsi...

The probe trip input, INP769, is the "probe mechanical input" on pin 8.
In the simplest case, your probe should close the mechanical input (pin 8) to 12V COM (pin 2 or 3).

From 1993 - 2009 (all versions of CNC7 and CNC10) axis motion profiles were trapezoidal.

S-curve accel/decel was introduced with the MPU11 family ca. 2009.

If this application is more like a milling machine with a rotary table (e.g. two linear axes plus a precision rotary axis) then you would be better off with the Mill version of the software, even if you build it on a lathe frame.

Another common cause is sticky limit switches that are sluggish to re-close after the axis moves off the switch. Try cleaning and lubricating the moving parts, then treating the contact points with electronic contact cleaner.
