Re: ISO CNC Z Axis Quill drive

One of my customers just obtained a new Elrod quill drive kit from Servo Products.

Call or e-mail them and ask.

Re: Cincinnati Arrow 750 VMC Retrofit

Considering price, features, performance, and ease of setup, the Delta C2000 is probably the preferred choice. The Hitachi SJ-P1 can do orientation, and has received positive recommendations on this forum. The Yaskawa A1000 with a PG feedback card will do orientation. The Mitsubishi A500 with its PG...

Re: CNC wood lathe upgrade

Is there a video of anyone upgrading a lathe like this? On the other hand, if by "like this" you mean a lathe that has a separate stepper/servo motor for every tool, the answer is probably no. You can no doubt retrofit that machine with a Centroid control, and you can program it to do any...

Re: ATC umbrella OAK

I don't see that the logic that leads to "9055 TOOL CLAMP UNCLAMP FAULT" is any different when M15 occurs in an M6 tool change, vs. by itself at the MDI prompt. Perhaps it is an air supply issue. During an M6 tool change, when the drawbar tries to unclamp, the carousel has been advanced. I...

Re: wireless mpg

I think that black bar is the indicator that, in normal operation, flashes briefly every time you press a key or turn the handwheel. In other words, it indicates when the MPG is transmitting data to the computer. Perhaps someone with a properly functioning WMPG handy can confirm that. If it is on co...

Re: Show me your Custom VCP's!

"Feed Hold" means pause motion and G code processing, without interrupting the job. Press Cycle Start to resume motion and processing. "Cycle Cancel" means interrupt the job, so that it is no longer running. Motion stops, spindle and coolant stop. Servo power remains on, with the...

Re: Set-up Air Controlled Spindle and Brake on Bridgeport V2XT

Use the PLC Detective source code view to watch what is happening in lines 2634-2645 of the PLC program. With luck, that will tell you whether OUT9 SpindleBrakeRelease_O is turning on when SpindleEnableOut_O turns on; and with luck it will tell you what condition is causing OUT4 SpeedUpOut_O to turn...

Re: Tool setting on my Mill

If you are using normal tool-setting procedures, you always use G43, never G44. G44 is only used in a setup where longer tools have more-negative offsets, and shorter tools have more-positive offsets. It is not a question of whether your particular offset values happen to be positive or negative; it...

Re: Allin1DC Normally Closed Probe

CNC12 (not the PLC program) limits MPG handwheel jogging to the x1 increment, if it thinks that a probe is tripped. You could try reversing all the MechanicalProbe references in the PLC program and removing the inversion, then going back to a negative value for Parameter 11. Perhaps CNC12 will check...
