Re: Allin1DC and Fanuc Yellow Cap DC Servos

Thanks for the response Arrow! This is really want I was thinking too. I really want to get rid of the Fanuc drives in order to get something more modern/easy to service. Also, I am hoping to have all of this be single phase when this is said and done, and currently (I think) the drives take 3ph. Th...

Re: Allin1DC and Fanuc Yellow Cap DC Servos

In an ideal world, if I had money, I would upgrade to newer servos and drives. I got a quote from DMM before I even bought the machine and they were just under $2500 before shipping and taxes, but I am not sure I really like there servo. I have read a quite a few things about people not being able t...

Re: Allin1DC and Fanuc Yellow Cap DC Servos

Can anyone at least answer how many amps the Centroid rectifier can handle? I see you can buy just the rectifier board, which can handle 35amps... but I don't want to assume that the whole package w/ cap. can handle 35 amps...

Thanks,
PZ

Allin1DC and Fanuc Yellow Cap DC Servos

A little background... I have a small hobby mill that I run an Acorn on, and I love it. It, matched with CNC12 is a fantastic product, and bang for buck I don't think you can beat it. I got tired of the machine (not the control), and wanted something with real rigidity.... So I bought a 1983 Takisaw...

Re: Loosing Position while using Smoothing (g64)

I performed the backlash comp vs no backlash comp and I got no difference between the two results... Still losing position, but only in the Y. I turned backlash back on and ran the test again but this time running it with smoothing at P2 and then again at P1. Only 0.001" difference from P2 to P...

Re: Loosing Position while using Smoothing (g64)

Well that is about as simple a test as there is. I will try to give it a shot tonight or tomorrow night and report back.

Thanks!

Re: Loosing Position while using Smoothing (g64)

phazertwo, this is a hard nut to crack. The only way I know to turn off backlash comp is to set the values back to 0 but I just can't see how backlash comp could be responsible to lose 0.08" in the Y-Axis. What I would do in your situation is to focus on the one axis with the bigger loss, in y...

Loosing Position while using Smoothing (g64)

My machine is a PM940, utilizing a 1700oz-in nema 34 stepper on the Z axis, and 1200oz-in nema 34 steppers on the X and Y. This setup has been VERY stable, and the only time I ever miss steps is if I simply crash. I have smoothing set to P1 or precision mill. I have been really pushing the limts of ...

Re: NC Probe and MPG Issues

phazertwo, I think I found your problem. When you have only a Touch Probe and no Tool Touch Off device, the Wizard automatically configures the Touch Probe as a TT but does not automatically sync the Input State when triggered for the TT. Go into the Tool Touch Off Page in the Wizard and adjust the...

I can't reproduce your problem with the same probe settings you have.

When you disconnect your probe, do your LED's for Input 6 & 7 look like this?

LED 6 must be red and 7 must be green with a Line on top.

Yes, 6 is red, and 7 is green.
