Re: Visually Impaired And Using The Acorn Control System
On the CNC12 side (blue background, left side of the screen) nearly everything is done with the keyboard.
On the Virtual Control Panel (VCP) (buttons on gray background, right side of screen) there are no keyboard equivalents, but a touch screen works well.
If you have minimal vision, and you do ...

Re: Bridgeport Interact power drawbar and toolholder question
You could try contacting a spindle rebuilder who might be willing to you in the right direction. A quick google came up with a few companies that do rebuilds on Bridgeport spindles. I imagine they would be the ones in the know on something this specific. Might even be able to sell you the parts you ...

Re: Bridgeport Interact power drawbar and toolholder question
If you have a Bellville stack, like you figured out, its a petal or ball bearing/pull stud arrangement. The only other changer I have seen that is not a BT/CAT/HSK, but still uses a Bellville stack is the tormach setup where it uses a R8 collet as a gripper.

Re: Acorn or Hickory for first time CNC retrofit ?
The other guys here know way more then I do about the centroid controllers, but my understanding is that Hickory and Oak (and Acorn6 I think?) are proper closed loop controller. You can use scales and have realtime position feedback. The regular 4 axis Acorn relies on the servo/drive to do exactly ...

In my day job I have compared Mastercam mill turn with fusion.
Mastercam offer was 35000€ +3700€/pa service for use on one PC only
Basic Fusion mill turn 400€/pa from any PC in the world one person at a time, 1800 ...

Re: RTCP Support
@Chaz
There is a video on NYC CNC on jerky 5axis moves with Fusion. (5 years ago)
This also applies to cnc12 (centroid doesn't do simultaneous moves in rapid move)
TCP: nhaa prefer dynamic work offset & 5x graphics in cnc12 (for table/table setups) :D
Well my mill with AcornSix and ...

Re: Wire Management
Maybe something like this?
https://buttkereit.co.uk/products/des-cable-entry-system
Seems like it would be pretty easy to make something similar on a 3d printer or mill if you have access to one.
What you described doing is similar to this though, they just have a fitting inside the gland to hold ...

Re: KP3 Error or Mill?
How is your stepper coupled to the ballscrew? I would begin with the drivetrain, since you are relying on the steppers encoder for position, I would take a close look at everything after the stepper.

Can you? Yes. Should you? Probably not.
Would this work? How critical is having the network directly on the notebook (rare on newer models) vs. builtin at USB-C dock?
Martin
I cannot recall the specific location, but I think the acorn manual specifically says not to use a usb to ethernet ...

My bad, I misread and for some reason thought he was talking about the axis drive gearing used in these machines.
