Re: M200 prompts sometimes disappear

I agree that the M200 is missing the timer variable that is the problem. I have always used a timer variable with each M2xx even if I want it to display the same amount of time. The manual does not show any example without timer variaable. As cncsnw stated, this is "a minor bug" I believe that the ...

Re: M200 prompts sometimes disappear

I use the M200 and the other M2xx.
If you want several lines of to show up with your message use the \n to create a second line instead of creating a new M2xx line.
(\n is explained in the manual 13.51.2 Special characters)
You have to create a new variable to display long or short for other M2xx ...

Hello,

The Higbee thread can be cut on a Centroid lathe. You do NOT need C-axis or live tooling.

Attached is a document that I wrote a number of years ago explaining Blunt Start Higbee Threading in Intercon with the history of the Higbee Thread.

Re: Threading with Acorn lathe Pro

The Thread angle is the compound angle, not the angle of the insert. Compound angle controls the angle that the control adjust how the cutting on the insert is done. 59 (29 1/2) adjusts the cut so most of the cut is done on the leading side of the insert. With compound angle of 0.0 the insert will ...

Re: Using round profile inserts on a lathe

This not a graphing error. The graph is running the g-code so this is the path of the tool. As far as I know this has not been fixed.

Re: Using round profile inserts on a lathe

Petal,

Sorry for so long getting back to you. After studying the finish pass gray line and semi finish gray line you can see on the right side where the semi finish gray lines is on the right side of the finish pass and the crosses over to the correct side of the finish pass at about 4 o'clock ...

Re: Using round profile inserts on a lathe

In Intercon F9 Setup what is the G71/G72 Rough Angle Escape Angle set to? 45 or 90 If set to 45 that may be why you are seeing the angle. Would send a report and the Intercon file so we can see what your setting are and how the program is written. With a pocket like this for the finish pass I have ...

Re: Offline programming tool path issues

The fish hooks (as I call them on the ID) is usually caused by cutter comp look ahead. Check to see what parameter 99 is set at on the offline and the control. In Intercon F9 set up you can see what it cutter comp look ahead is set to ( same as parameter 99) by scrolling clear down to the bottom ...

Re: Thread milling with single point tool question

The tooling company will give you the range for the threads per inch (pitch for metric) so the shank will not rub the ID on internal and OD on external. You need to check the thread mill is size correctly for the threads you are cutting. If you are doing a harder material and want to make a semi ...
