Its as easy as can be. These are the wire colors from our Spindle Control Harness, but you'll get the drift:
Black and Red are analog volts. Blue and Yellow are SPIN_FWD logic

Yes you can. And by the time you are ready for it, hardware paired autosquaring may be baked into the wizard's cake!!!

My current ShopBot configuration uses a USB-RS-485 adapter to talk to my Yaskawa VFD. Is it possible to configure CNC12 to use that interface instead of trying to figure out if the VFD will take a 0..10V signal off the Acorn? Tnx. g. Gene... No issues whatsoever, one or two simple parameter changes...

You can hardware pair the gantry axis to allow adding a 4th axis. Every ShopBot ever shipped from Durham has been wired in this manner. We are currently shipping our Acorn 4 ClearPath systems configured this way and are including independent axis Auto square

Yes, confirmed. Leadshine drives and their clone must be connected to the DB25 header and pulse set to 100k htz

Are you using the recommended 18ga twisted pair (shielded) wire?

Have you installed the often noted 0.10 mfd capacitor across the analog terminals?

Also, I do not have the confidence in DMM products that Sean has. I have been burned by them in too many instances.
