Re: Controller-only (not motors/drivers) upgrade for PRS Alpha

Re: Controller-only (not motors/drivers) upgrade for PRS Alpha
Hey man, I'm not trying to sell you a controller package, just trying to save you some wasted time and frustration. There are a good number of SB guys here that have built their own systems, and they, along with myself try to assist the next guys that come along

Re: Wizard turns/deg limited to 7 characters?
A couple questions before I answer, if I may.... 3.1:1 is not a common reduction ratio, how did you arrive at that number? Your numbers are accurate, but only at full steps, are you running a stepper at full steps? If so, why? And the reason behind my questions is shown in the chart below. Using 1/8...

Re: NEW ShopBot Closed Loop System
This controller is also available with NEMA34 motors, M12 connectors and 14 pin spindle interface to enable AVID customers to take advantage of the additional features of the Acorn controller and closed loop steppers.

Re: Older Shopbot desktop build
The power supply is 48V as you remember. 6.7A I believe those Haydon Kerk motors draw 2 amps, so 6.7A on the PS should be good I will look into limit switch upgrades. Should be plenty of choices but if you have a known accurate/reliable recommendation I welcome it. I prefer proximity sensors. I wou...
