If you're diligent you can probably find a way to reprogram the drives online. It used to take usb to rj45 adapter cable and M$ hyper terminal

Hey man, I'm not trying to sell you a controller package, just trying to save you some wasted time and frustration. There are a good number of SB guys here that have built their own systems, and they, along with myself try to assist the next guys that come along

However, it seems to me that overall it should be more practical with the 2020 hardware since the motor/driver issues you mentioned have presumably been addressed. All has been answered here by me, with one small caveat: the 2020 version of drivers (AR versions) will be slightly more difficult to implement as they have even more obscure logic in their programming

A couple questions before I answer, if I may.... 3.1:1 is not a common reduction ratio, how did you arrive at that number? This controller is also available with NEMA34 motors, M12 connectors and 14 pin spindle interface to enable AVID customers to take advantage of the additional features of the Acorn controller and closed loop steppers.

The power supply is 48V as you remember. 6.7A I believe those Haydon Kerk motors draw 2 amps, so 6.7A on the PS should be good I will look into limit switch upgrades. Should be plenty of choices but if you have a known accurate/reliable recommendation I welcome it. I prefer proximity sensors. I wou...
