Re: Axis motion after electronics moved to new enclosure

Yes, confirmed. Leadshine drives and their clone must be connected to the DB25 header and pulse set to 100k htz

Re: Analog Out weirdness, please help

Are you using the recommended 18ga twisted pair (shielded) wire?

Have you installed the often noted 0.10 mfd capacitor across the analog terminals?

Also, I do not have the confidence in DMM products that Sean has. I have been burned by them in too many instances.

Re: Grizzly G4003G conversion

Not just 230v, but 230v 3 phase, with a vfd that will accept single phase input. The only way to go, and usually less than a servo

Re: Delta ASDA-B2 ACORN WIRING INFORMATION

You can measure dc volts on the direction pins, ~5 volts vs ~ a few tenths of a volt for pos vs neg movement, unless inverted. But, you will need a scope to verify step signal

Re: Help on isolation switch fit two circuits/power supplies

Why should I put the vfd in a seperate box I've seen almost all enclosures online with the vfd in the same enclosure. In most cases, I do exactly what you refer to. VFD in the control box. No problems, as I have an oscilloscope, I stock various sizes and types of line reactors, and EMI filters AND ...

Re: New Build Steel Frame Router

Slower moves will also accelerate slower. I have to think about why that's a benefit. Of course they do. Feedrate motion is accompanied with cutting, cutting action can seldom tolerate the acceleration that rapids can. Acorn 4 may be a hobby priced package, but make no mistake the Centroid controll...

Re: Upgrading a Gorilla CNC from Flashcut to Acorn

If you look on the Schematics page, you will see numerous examples that both source and sink step/direction signals to stepper drives from the DB25 header. FYI... on the advanced page you have the ability to invert signals. No sense over complicating the process, a bit more time in the manual and on...

Re: New Build Steel Frame Router

I have not been able to find any documentation on the acceleration setting. Usually acceleration has units of m/s^2 or ft/s^2. In Acorn the unit is in Seconds, so I am guessing that's the time to accelerate to full speed? (Intuitive) Internally there must be a conversion to acceleration m/s^2. If w...

Re: Help on isolation switch fit two circuits/power supplies

A few observations: In my experience, usually the spindle would be on a higher amperage circuit than the control Is there a reason to not use a single, higher amperage circuit? I prefer using a load break switch, usually door mounted as an added safety feature Your spindles VFD and the drives power ...
