1 rev per minute = 360°/min
1 rev per second (60 rpm) = 21,600°/min
Depending on your hardware neither one of the above are considered very fast. I routinely set my max rate at 144,000°/min for low reduction wood cutting, with fast jog at 7200 and slow jog at 720

Re: Setting up a 4th axis travel
2.5 to 1 is seldom enough reduction to return good results. That said, you need to know exactly what the reduction ratio is. Divide that number by 360 and you will have your turns per degree.
For example for 2.5 to 1 reduction: 2.5/360 = 0.006944

Due to the age of those drives there is no guarantee that they will work properly when connected to a modern controller. That said, after looking over the provided manual, all the info for connection, including the use of pull up resistors is in there. Connect to the step/direction pins and common o...

Connect those LeadShine (clone) drives to the DB25 connector and make sure that you do not connect to the enable pin on the drive

Re: CNC CONTROL SUGGESTIONS
Yours is a pretty straightforward tangential cutter application. As long as you have a CAM program that can output the C axis positions, I see no obstacles. There are numerous options for customization with the Centroid system. Both virtual (onscreen) and physical buttons. Here's one I did a few yea...

It looks like you are connecting to a 24v com terminal on the power block. The 24v(+) terminals are the 2 on the far right

Have you tried adding a 0.1mfd capacitor across the Acorn analog terminals?

Re: MDI Spindle Voltage Incorrect
If you wish your analog voltage to be linear, set the wizard rpm minimum to zero. Then set your desired minimum speed in the VFD parameters (Htz Min)
